Yeah official marriage is not needed, but people tend to want to settle with the same person and this is natural. When you are young you want to fuck around but as you grow up most people want to settle with a person that you consider special, in this sense is not a scam, but you dont need to get officially married for that.

Yeah official marriage is not needed, but people tend to want to settle with the same person and this is natural. When you are young you want to fuck around but as you grow up most people want to settle with a person that you consider special, in this sense is not a scam, but you dont need to get officially married for that.

It depends on one's faith and worldview.
For religious people, marriage is a sacrament and not just a piece of paper or formality.

When ancient roman empire became wealthy their citizens became super hedonistic and gave up marriage too because everyone wanted to fuck everything so they started to have orgies and eat from golden plates and wear glamorous clothes.
