Simple story.  This time last month I won my first Cryptsy Points Drawing!!! Wooohooo, right?

It was sweet.  I mean almost nobody enters these things (20K ?ish that day) and I had 500 tickets, but damned if those weren't hard earned (from back-breaking trades) points of mine.

Anyways, it was a holiday weekend (at least in parts of the world) so I figured I would hear from them the next week.  I e-mailed Cryptsy that night, summarizing the events (I WON!) my name and contact info and a question along the lines of "awesome thanks guys, when might I expect this?"  Submitted it properly through the support ticket channels.

Sat back.  Waited.

Nothing.

More than a few days passed which was unusual I thought so I mentioned it to mod Horus in the chat box who quickly acknowledged that they were working on sending it out and informed me if I had any more issues to contact him direct at HORUS@CRYPSTY.COM.  This was 10 days after my win.

What followed over the next 3-4 weeks were a handful of inquisitive tweets, e-mails to Crypsty staff and opening/updating support tickets that would sit...ignored....to this day (last action taken 30 days 4 hours ago)

Then I started to get pissed when I saw that overweight fella Vern tweeting excitedly to hype up their mega mystery prize or whatever and became filled with rage.  That of a man ignored.  Scammed?  Shafted?  Disregarded?

I noticed below "BIG VERN's" tweet was another individual same as me, only he has been waiting 8 weeks.  I reached out to see if he was also being completely ignored by the Cryptsy folk.  Have yet to hear back.

So my question is this.

Has anyone actually received their Cryptsy prize?  If so what was your experience with the whole thing?  Does anyone have any rumors, truths or other kindle to toss on?  Google searches revealed lots of questions about the manner in which the drawing was being operated, as the same few individuals had gotten SUPER lucky in a short span of time.

But.....has anyone actually, ever gotten their prize before?!?

I can't figure out why they are going out of their way to be such blatant dickheads.  If/when I receive a response or my ticket becomes updated I'll let you know.

BTW. prize is an Antminer S3.  If I am lucky it will still be mining above it's required electricity rates!!!

Grats on your prize. For good measure, can you prove you won? Screenshots and the like? Not saying you're lying, just would like to see Smiley

I haven't heard any issues. Have you opened a support ticket? Horus gets bombarded with requests in chatbox. I'd suggest calling the office or opening a true support ticket through their site.

Question: did you in fact contact Horus directly like he suggested?

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

Yes. Twice over a two week period I contacted Horus with not so much as a hello in response.  They are all helpful in chat. Great for FAQ questions but he totally has blown off 3 of my emails to horus@cryptsy

Thanks. See original post, support tickets to nowhere.

I'll add some more proof in the morning as I'm limited to phone Internet's right now.

In chat box obviously messages directed at individual are highlighted in blue. I'm aware this can be edited but have no real need to go through that trouble on my phone tonight, ha.

Also, while this account here may not be overly vocal I have had and used it for ages dating back to my cryptsy sign up days.

Not surprised by this at all considering how slow they are with their simply coin withdrawals. Withdrew 3.5 BTC worth of an alt coin two days ago and just now (2 hours ago) rec'd the withdraw...was getting worried...

jelly, I hope your issue gets resolved quickly. I suggested a support ticket because it would be brought to more attention than just Horus. I have had a few hiccups with cryptsy, but it all ends up resolved. Of course, I would be sad if I never got my prize! BTCspeed to you good sir.

follow-up

After making the OP I tweeted a response to some @cryptsy folks.

Within a few minutes I had someone (Horus) reach out to me via e-mail to apologize and state that somebody would finally be in touch with me regarding the issue the very next day (yesterday) and then....... more silence.

Others have suggested opening tickets through support, which I have/had done a few times over the last 5 weeks.  Each one has been promptly elevated to a level 2 tech support and then FLAT IGNORED.  My oldest ticket is 32 days old and hasn't been responded to once, not ever.  None of my tickets have even been acknowledged.

Horus was sure to say that there really is no excuse for the amount of time this has taken and assured it would be promptly resolved, only to be ignored some more.

Frustrating as shit.

In the meantime, my 14 day average trade volume has fallen from a few BTC consistently to 0.  Where it will stay for the forseeable future.

Can't help but wonder if the Dec. 25th MYSTERY PRIZE winner has heard from the people at Cryptsy yet?!?!?!

Also like to update that I am not alone.  Check out the other response to one of BIG VERNS :/ tweets https://twitter.com/cryptsy/status/547235546679230464 there.  This guy had one a month before me and has yet to receive a prize or any return response to his own inquiries.

BAIT AND SWITCH!  I WANT MY CRYPTSY POINTS BACK!  RABBLE RABBLE!

ToastedJelly,
I deeply apologize for the delay on your prize.
These have been delayed for the simple fact is our prize guy has been on vacation for the last few weeks of the year.
We do expect him to return this week and all prizes won/owed should be shipped / paid out.

Unbelievable.
They have a "prize guy".
I see they are developing an escrow service.
Before anyone uses it, I suggest they ask for the vacation dates of the "escrow guy".

Many ppl have been on vacation for the holiday season.  Those left are needed in more important areas. Such as making sure the site runs smoothly, withdrawals
and deposits go in and out in a timely manner, and in making sure that your investments are secure.
Which one should we swap prize shipments from?

Don't offer what you can't fulfill. If you can't offer prizes to be delivered in a timely manner regardless of vacations then you shouldn't offer them for a certain time. Thats like pulling an mtgox (not as bad obviously) but offering trading on their exchange when they didn't have any funds left. Its like entering a drawing for a prize that doesn't exist or for when it does, it will be severely less in value (such as the antminer this person won almost a month ago, difficulty increased and thus valuable).

Don't try saying this isn't your fault, you guys screwed up completely and your reasoning is even worse.

Get sick. Get well.

It's weak. BigVern should have stepped off his yacht or whatever and mailed the guy his prize

It's not like a fine wine you know. If the item is time-sensitive like a miner (ONE miner) you should have been prepared. It doesn't look good, Jim

Our team works hard, most above and beyond the hours they get paid for.  Are they not entitled to some down time?
What you dont know, is that in this case the miner was to be substituted for something else not as time sensitive per the request of the user.
This request required not only authorization, but some things done by the person assigned to prizes who is currently on vacation.

I get the feeling no matter what is said it will not be good enuff, so perhaps prize drawings should be removed during holidays.
Then there is nothing for people to complain about.

Oh but wait, then there will be complaints because there is no drawing.
Cant please everyone, and there will always be somebody to complain.

Nope. That information was not in the OP Tongue

Bad OP!

Hey ToastedJelly,

I am sorry for the delays.  I was not ignoring you.

I had to pass it up the chain of command. I tried to stay in contact with you via email until the problem was resolved.

Because we have a non-manager who usually mails the prizes, they normally ship out very fast.

Unfortunately a lot of office was on holidays visiting family all over the country.

Since you were the first person to request a negative balance be cleared instead of a prize be shipped, we had to send it up the ranks for the boss to do it.

No staff other than the owner has the ability to change a balance so we had to wait on that.

I believe you balance is cleared up now and prize has been paid.  I want to thank you for your patience in the matter and I'm thankful it has been resolved.

I agree we need to take steps to ensure this scenario never happens again. The timing was terrible and for that I apologize.

Please be assured we are looking at this very seriously and are taking steps to fix it indefinitely ( that includes a backup for when prize guy is away)

Thanks again and if there is anything I can do to make your Cryptsy experience more pleasant, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Horus.

A little condescending there.  Not very good customer service.

How about, " sorry for the delay but we've had a number of people off during the holidays and have been operating with minimal staff who are working hard to keep the exchange up and running.  We will do our best to fulfill your order as soon as possible."

Then maybe throw in a little something extra for goodwill when actually shipping the item.
