Hi guys,

First I would like to apologize if this is posted in the wrong forum.
If it is can one of the mods please move to the appropriate forum?
Thanks for that  Cheesy

Now to my question.

I have a Bitcoin core wallet which I would like to import in an offline Armory wallet and keep an eye on with a "watching wallet".

How can I do that and make sure that the private keys have properly been imported in the offline wallet,
and of course keep an eye and create offline transactions with the online watching wallet?

Many thanks for all you help  Cheesy

I think this is a somewhat appropriate section. It could possibly be moved to Beginners & Help though. This is taken from bitcoinarmory.com:

"Unfortunately, Armory does not support the same address format used by Bitcoin Core. The feature was available in Armory until the new format was adopted by Bitcoin Core in April 2012. However, Armory will be upgrading its own wallet format very soon, to support wallet types of lots of different programs, in addition to supporting multi-signature transactions (see below). However, even if Armory could use Bitcoin Core wallets, they would need to be backed up every couple of months because they are “non-deterministic.” For this reason, it is recommended that you create a native Armory wallet, and transfer your funds to it instead of waiting for the migration feature (and then make a paper backup of it!). Anything that could be done with a Bitcoin Core wallet can be done with an Armory wallet. Also, Armory has a feature that makes it easy to export your private keys, so that they can be imported into another program (such as Bitcoin Core). If you try Armory and decide you don’t like it, you can use this feature to “migrate” your Armory wallet to another application. However, for a variety of reasons, it is still recommended to just send the funds to the other wallet instead of migrating."

Why don't you watch the public key only? It's contradicting to have an offline armory wallet and import the wallet into an online client.

I don't think you understood my question.

I will not import the wallet to the online client - that will be a WATCHING ONLY wallet: https://bitcoinarmory.com/tutorials/armory-advanced-features/offline-wallets/

The wallet will be imported to the offline client yet it will be watched by the online client who will also create offline transactions for the offline client to sign and the online client to broadcast.

Many thanks  Cheesy

Go to armory and create a new wallet (on offline computer). Then you make a watch only copy for your armory installation running on an online computer. Then send funds from old  (non-armory)wallet to armory wallet.

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

I figured that much.

I have actually came up with a different solution  Cheesy

Once again, many thanks  Cheesy
