Checkcoin [CKC] and Paycoin [XPY] for me are by far the best long term investments this year. Checkcoin development is slow but is backed by a dedicated company from the Netherlands.
The launch of their geocaching software is planned for early 2015 and should liven things up quite a bit. As for Paycoin, well I got in early and with the millions of dollars GAW has invested in the project, it would be a mistake to take them lightly. I believe XPY can easily reach $100, possibly more by the end of 2015.

uno
was the best performing clean asset in the world during summer and will be again next year. If Bitcoin keeps falling uno will not be affected.
Uno rises when bitcoin rises and rises when bitcoin falls, so: uno rises
bullmarket was 6 months long (went unnoticed by many because it wasn't a crazy pump).
now bearmarket was 2 months long and looks to be ending right now. Next bullmarket is potentially epic again.
Uno is what bitcoin could have been.

The coins that are going to appreciate in value next year are the coins that have other uses besides trading for fiat and other cyber coins. Coins that are only good for trading for other coins are dead now. A coin needs an active dev team and constant new features to be mainstreamed and appreciate in value. Crypti, XCR, is adding custom block chains, DPOS, 1 minute blocks, forging with only a 1000 coin investment. They are even developing a minicomputer coinbox for forging and trading.
