Bitcoin itself is an investment, no need to invest it in something else. The options available are risky and you may end up losing it.

Hold them and check after 6 months.

I just enjoy spending small amounts, giving out loans, and for the rest, buy when the rate is low. And hold on to it until it's at a rate I like and cash in a part of it.

You should always be careful investing in a HYIP, as it is guaranteed to collapse in the end. I would rather stay away from it, but if you really want to invest in it please only invest a small amount that you can afford to lose.

What about a site like localbitcoins buying and selling locally?

If you want to buy when price is low and sell when price is high, you should use an exchange as it will be much more easier for you to trade the bitcoins.

If you want to simultaneously buy coins at discount and sell coins at premium on localbitcoins, it is okay as long as you have made sure you don't some sort of license for your operation. I heard that some people has been arrested in Florida.

I find cloud mining to be the most reliable when it comes to BTC investments. I'm personally invested in GAW and made some nice money with them. But I'm not gonna suggest any particular site to you, it's always best that you do your own thorough research and decide for yourself. There are quite a few different sites that offer cloud mining contracts with promise of ROI in 2-3 months, some are reputable, others less.

If you just keep it, you will never know when bitcoin's price will up or down.

you can invest or gamble it.
Both of them have a risk !

All HYIP and ponzi schemes pay out exactly as advertised in the beginning, until suddenly they stop paying anymore.

Yes that's the risk of a Ponzi. You don't know when exactly the bubble will burst.

Personaly i wouldn't get into loaning btc, too man scammers.
Same reason not to send it to some investor, gambling is probably there investment strategy.
Better to just learn how to trade yourself, try bitcoinwisdom i think you can set up some pretty neat trading options on there.

Good point made by Domino, check your local tax laws on btc before investing.
My guess is the government is going to come down hard in 2015 regarding bitcoin tax.
They can't stop it now but some governments will try make it hard for people who are trying to make a bit of extra cash from it.

Any form of investment is gonna require a great deal of trust with the person you are lending the money too - i'd just hold or trade the BTC....
