I use my
Rokus for a ton of "cut-the-cord" stuff. Plenty of free movie channels (Like
Crackle) and Live news from sources like CNN and SkyNews. Also loaded up
PLEX on my PC to serve all my movies to the Rokus in the house. I also have a
SilconeDust HD Homerun Prime 3 to pump broadcast TV through my net to my computers and Ipads. You can also setup MicroSoft Media Center to DVR your programs. I used to use
Wiziwig (Until they shutdown yesterday - now using
LiveTV.sx) To view all the lives sports and PPV that I couldn't get. No perfect solution but there is a few tips for you.
-EDIT-
More tips....
Don't forget you can torrent any file to a directory on your Plex Server to broadcast/send to your Roku. Endless movies & TV shows now available to your TV.
Also, I have paired up my IPAD to my Roku. I can "Throw" any Youtube video stream directly to my TV via the Roku. You can even que up a playlist. For Example; Make a list of your favorite music videos on Youtube and let them run!
