Depends on the reason for it failing: - One way mathematical functions used by Bitcoin failing: Find another function that is safe (if there is any left) - Some implementation-flaw: Hard-fork Bitcoin with a fixed codebase. - People losing interest in Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies and they lose traction: Well, they will most likely fade into obscurity, that's the way things go...
Decentralized crypto-currencies solve huge problems for people all around the world in terms of the greater personal freedom, privacy and security they provide. As well as huge cost savings in payments and value transfer so I don't think they will lose traction. I want to see the crypto movement grow and challenge the status quo as well as selfishly profit in the process. At the moment Bitcoin mostly takes other decentralized alternatives down with it too. I think Bitcoin still has at least another 6 months to prove itself but if this year long downtrend continues even with the huge investment, utility & development that has happened in and around Bitcoin then I think people are going to have to take a cold hard look in the mirror and question whether Bitcoin has a fundamental problem. I think a no/low inflation crypto with currency stable assets for business is the solution. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=922252.msg10128457#msg10128457If no-one can challenge that argument then that's fantastic news. It means crypto is not dying. It's doing better than ever and gaining wider and wider adoption. Bitcoin as the very first iteration of an entirely new technology just had some problems which have since largely been addressed by alternatives.

Everything can fall. Roman empire fall after 2000 years! Euro almost collapsed a few years ago. Bitcoin can also fall but hopefully will not

You can just buy BitUSD which is a decentralized stable dollar asset that is comparable to a financial instrument called a contract for difference. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179695.msg10078463#msg10078463I would previously have suggested looking at NuBits too but the latest blog post by Bytemaster basically laid out that it's very risky - a NuBit is at best an unsecured IOU from unknown issuers. It only becomes a Ponzi scheme once NuBits is forced to print new NuBits to pay interest on old NuBits. They are not currently doing this, but due to the fractional reserve, naked-shorting that I believe is being practiced it is inevitable. Even Ponzi started out with honest intentions.

It is either: • Restarting plan A as it was before, increasign its popularity steadily. • Perfecting plan A correcting mistakes • Litecoin/DOGEcoin/Altcoins • Blockchainless coins

Well, let's hope it won't fail. However, if it does fail, I hope people have atleast some sort of plan B. We can still come out on top!

If it fails, which I doubt it will, people will go back to plan A which is fiat, I don't think they'll trust another digital currency, so all the altcoin's survival depends on Bitcoin ultimately.

this is such a hypothetical scenario!
but if bitcoin fails someday, and price falls so low to two digits, i will sell all my bitcoins that i have saved up and take the cash and never look back at bitcoin ever again. also i might still continue my work in altcoin market, because i am currently invested in some of them and earning some small profit through that, so it is always nice to earn money through trading no matter what the price of bitcoin is.

Plan B could be other alt coins. I certainly hope that Plan B is another similar currency. The current fiat system is not sustainable.
