I think it will.

as to why the price dropped, I'm not sure. I have this dumb guess that it happened because the big fishes are all on new year vacation.  Tongue

and I saw this news sometime last week telling that dollar is on the rise.

Miners do seem to think so. They are all selling at a loss if they sell their mined BTC now, BUT STILL they keep throwing more and more hash at this fcker... So YES. It will rise for sure. This is just whale dumbings...

And since 2009 Bitcoin has been in this situation many times by now.

If it falls below 250, I think there is serious trouble but for right now I think it will rise again.

Maybe the whale try to push down the price, then buy back when small investors rush to sell off at low price.

A part of the reason for the recent drop may be related to the USD getting stronger related to other assets and currencies

And yes, I think it will rise again... but I don't know for sure

Bagholders
Slang for idiots that are buying something that will never see another day. OTOH, could also and likely be smart buyers that will see the fruits beyond one's comprehension in due time. My money is on the latter and so are those betting on the all the startups making products that will make the community a better place for the common person via all these bitcoin conferences going on now and into the winter of 2015 and beyond. Yes, almost certainly in 2016 when the mining rewards halves. That would reduce dumps to some extent.

If you are concerned about whether the price will rise up again, I can tell you there's always a chance. Number 1 reason is that the community here is still much alive, and the community here will be the one supporting bitcoin all the way through. And whatever selling pressure will be countered by the buy order, that's for sure.
