The campaign manager of cryptomine.io, Carra23, is specifically inviting and paying higher rates for some (not all) very trusted members (with significant green, often bolded, trust) into the cryptomine.io signature campaign.

Quotes confirming he PMs high trusted users to join the campaign (all below users have publicly visible green trust):
Enrolling as per invitation via PM..
I was PM'd about it
Yeah she did.
Yes they did.
Quote
Quote from: marcotheminer
Did carra23 contact you to join a campaign?

Quote from: bigtimespaghetti (green trusted user)
Hi marco, yes carra23 got in touch to join.

The above issue(s) aren't too big of a deal, although it does make him sound a bit shady but as long as members don't find the PMs to be spammy, it can slide.

Full disclosure, I run am running a signature campaign on behalf of BIT-X.com.

The OP was (mostly) written by yours truly, although the leg work/research was done by marco.

I do think that making a what appears to be a public signature campaign invitation only is misleading. Also the overall way Carra23 has handled the signature campaign smells of a scam to me

It is definitly troublesome, but I'm not sure what can be done against it. However, it's a good thing that you inform people about it and I hope that people keep this in mind if they join the signature campaign or use their website.

Thanks for this thread @marcotheminer , I think now Carra23 should reply here to resolve the "problem / trouble". He didn't appear transparent in his operation management of the signature campaign.

He initially didn't want to post the address ,  what was the purpose  to not post it?

By the way, there is already a thread here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=876473.0

Had locked it, but unlocked now. But I think, the 2 threads are somewhat different.
The solution is VERY SIMPLE . Starting by having one of the reputed escrows handle the funds.

I am not sure the issue is here..

-Grabbing people with good reps is a smart move
-They paid last month with no issues
-Sniping is just how things often happen - no need to be mad about it.

In the future you should not publicly post things that were sent via PM (Private Message) - it is rude.

Correct. He should probably be more transparent about it though.
-They paid last month with no issues
Technically true, however his reputation is worth significantly less then the amount he will owe signature participants. He has no trading history on the forum which leads me to believe Carra23 is a purchased account that is being controlled by the operators of Cryptomine. There is nothing wrong with this however I believe the account was purchased with the intention of giving a false sense of credibility of the signature campaign.

Also correct.

He should have gotten permission prior to publicly quoting what people say in a PM.

I guess it probably won't affect a lot of the trusted members either way marginally since a lot of them have a lot of bitcoin from it's early days. They also tend to post a lot regardless of if they are getting paid to do so.

There are a lot of scams on here, more then there should be. There does need to be a better way to do a better job of preventing scams from succeeding.

Smart, sure, but it also leads people to be rightfully suspicious. I think he's likely trying to buy/acquire some positive feedback so I'm guessing that's why they were headhunted and I think people often look at this type of behaviour with concern. It's definitely worth making people aware of and keeping an eye on that's for sure.

It certainly is, but if a scam does happen, then this would do far more damage , as people tend to think, that trusted members would not be advertising a scam.
An example of this is the recent case of dicebitco.in. Just Dice owner dooglus, initially advertised their site in his signature,  and the site was able to get 7000 BTC investment, in about 2 months.
That is something, none of the other sites were able to get.
In the end, it was found rolls were rigged and it was scamming the gamblers. Then in also ran away with some investor funds.
Having some reputed members use their signature, makes it look like they are vouching for it(even though they clearly say , they are not, but people still consider it so).

Well if it does end as a scam, then I am sure the enrolled members won't complain as they already have enough warning.
Another aspect of this that strikes to me as fishy, is Cryptomine itself being ok with all decisions carra makes on his own.
Just because of the sig campaign, cryptomine lost on a lot of customers and if they were legit, they would immediately use a trusted escrow.

it isnt about the enrolling member, more importantly about the community

community tend to think high rank member and green trust dont advertise a scam this will lead more customer to cryptomine, which is a good advertisement, but how if cryptomine turn out to be a scam?that will damage the community
