NMC has a purpose, its a decentralized DNS system. To most people that doesn't seem like much, but it is a big achievement in freedom of speech. Before NMC, every domain had a big red stop button attached to it that any registry could press. NMC removes that button and has shown us a glimpse of the future of DNS systems.
LTC was designed to be a GPU-hostile currency, so that it would be mined by CPU's mainly. The hashing function used isn't GPU-hostile and apparently runs more efficiently on GPU's. It has no benefit over BTC & therefore IMO is now useless and a failed project.
Also, where did all these LTC threads pop out of? I thought I was the only one using it a while ago!
