May be nothing, but the date of the first tweet is suspect.

This further confirms my suspicion on the relationship of bears and thefts. Some bears, especially that 30K @ $300 guy, is very suspicious.

Some coherence would be nice.

The 'supposedly' stolen coins at 1L2JsXHPMYuAa9ugvHGLwkdstCPUDemNCf have not been sold, they haven't even moved.

We dunno if that address indeed contains the stolen coins or not. I believe the thefts are nether stupid nor slow hands. They must have sold it already.

Other than the label on every transaction in the wallet saying "Bitstamp Hack".

Exactly, so where do you suppose the coins came from? there's been no large movements from Stamp other than this 18K which, for all we know, is still under stamp's control.

Please read the post above starting with "But of course".

I did.

I think you may wish to read it again, with your sarcasm sensors turned up a bit.

I know he is hinting how unbelievable this 4 steps explanation is. But with some stamp employees' (betrayers') help, it is a piece of cake for the thefts to finish step 2-4.

But of course, the betrayer will get his fair share of profits from this whole operation.

interesting, though i suppose anyone could have made a vague remark like that and turned out to be right sometime. who is this guy -- somebody who, in theory, could be in the know?

I don't know who he is. But it's also odd that he'd say "I have 5.2 million reasons...." in one of his tweets. The original might be coincidence. but that is a big coincidence (which he allows people to believe by not defending himself), and the 5.2M part might just be trolling. A lot of what ifs.. It was all over reddit and it was brought to my attention through another place I chat.

Edit: He has deleted a few since I read it. One asking him to comment, him saying his lawyer advised him not to comment and one where someone said "ethics say you should comment"... and then he gets defensive when others get offended by his smug attitude.

I think it is the same bunch of people that play the roles of both bears and thefts. They sold the stolen coins to drag the prices down and then used their ambushed short position to further maximize their profits. The 3K coins sold at $300 might be the stolen coins.

But of course
1) Hack the exchange
2) use the same exchange to sell your coins
3) verify your identity and use a known bank account to withdraw the money from the exchange you have just robbed
4) assume nothing will happen and bitstamp will deliver your millions you have just stolen from them without even verifying anything

This is all it takes to close this thread.

And maybe I'm not getting it, but the 18k hack occurred just a few days ago and had no relation with those 30k coins sold.

the 5.2 million comment caught my attention at first, but then i realized it could just be a convenient troll, after the fact. certainly curious, but we'll probably never know...

No. I highly doubt they stole the money to dump the exchange.

In the asian exchanges you can trade BTC futures and one contract gives you leverage to short or long up to 10 positions.

Its down because there is a lack of buyers.
