You might need to add to your conf file. rpcuser= rpcpassword= Add your own values to each after the = are you using the right wallet/source? I know the first one I had downloaded was wrong, there was a bitbeans and bitbean source, the latter being the correct one.

windows tends to create a .txt file instead of .conf. make sure you are saving it as "other" and not a text file. or you end up with bitbean.conf.txt

You can solo mine coin as long as your hash power is powerful enough to find you a block. You need to set rpcuser (your receiving wallet address) and rpcpassword (anything) in your BitBean .conf file first and set same user password in your mining config file and start mining.

When does pos start?
POS only will start after 10000 blocks as far as i can remember, but the you can already stake what you've mined. Not sure if its a pos or not but already started staking from my balance worth 1000 coins each block.
