Yes, Bitcoin is not perfect, but it's doing a damn fine job for being a currency. 

I'm not so sure I agree wit this. I'm a massive fan of bitcoin and it's potential but as far as a currency goes it's not doing excellent currently. It certainly has the potential though. Let's see where it takes us over the next few years and hopefully this will change.
