Sold.

I have 4 GPUs here, and I'm throwing them out there for people to make offers on. As you can see, all 4 are blower reference fans. I'm also open to trades: all 3 5970s for a Single. They are (from top to bottom):

1x PowerColor 5870 - Mines at 925,300,1.000 stable, and also plays games @ 900,1300,1.075. No issues. (I'd rather keep this one as it has an HDMI port, and it's the one I game on).

1x AMD Reference 5970 - I have it mining at 675,300,0.95 for 600+MH/s @ ~200W. The PCI bracket is a little crooked, but still fits. One core runs a little hotter (~6C @ 50% fan) than the other, even after re-applying thermal paste.

1x Sapphire 5970 - I mine at 675,300,0.95 for 600+MH/s @ ~200W. It was declared SICK twice in the first week I got it, but hasn't done it in the past 3 weeks.

1x Diamond 5970 - I have had this mining, but it's very unstable. Causes driver crashes sometimes. I did an oven-reflow (385 F for 9 minues), and now it mines on core 2, but it still somewhat unstable. I honestly havn't played with this card that much, as I've just been running the other 3 cards. Still, gimme an offer if you can use it (or fix it).

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Sorry, but I'd rather sell the 5970s first.

Would you say there is headroom on the ref + sapphires for core speed? 675 seems low. I'm in the game for maybe 1 5970. 2 would stretch my funds too thin.

Yes I suppose I should clarify. I'm running them at 675MHz at 0.950 Volts, which gives me 615MH/s at ~200Watts. They do run at 825MHz at stock (1.050) Volts, which gives 765MH/s at ~300Watts.

Heat, power, AND noise are all big factors for me, so I usually run my cards undervolted to the minimum, with --auto-fan and --temp-target 70.

Well I meant headroom @ 0.95v. I currently run that on all my cards that are capable, but with increasing exchange rates, I might be looking into running 1.063v instead (volterras seem to have steps. running 0.949v = 0.95v, 0.95v = 0.95v, 0.951v = 1.063v). My ambient is identical to outside temperature seeing as I run my rigs literally outside, so I don't need to mess with noise or pumping heat out of the house. .... Probably got off topic there, but you get the idea.

edit: noting that I have a pending on 2 5970's in another thread. If you find a different buyer for your 5970's, then by all means let them have it.

Ah I see. No, I tried jumping to 700MHz, and they crashed. I saw other people running 675 @0.95 here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55337.0 , so I thought that was pretty average.

If your other offers fall through, let me know Wink In the mean time, these are still for sale!

Free bump for you. I got some first hand experience with 2 5970's. I have cores stable at 675, 685, 720, and 745 @ 0.95v, so I guess 675 is pretty normal Smiley
I'm still interested, but I'm strapped for cash pretty bad right now. Let me know if $240 shipped to 54501, USA for the AMD/Sapphire 5970's is in the ballpark of being acceptable though. I -MIGHT- be able to work some funds out, but don't hold your breath.

Also something I found interesting. I got an ATI and a HIS branded 5970. The only difference is the sticker. The BIOS's between the 2 cards were identical. CRC32/SHA matched.
