There's no such thing as absolutely hack-proof security as long as you're connected to the Internet. And any bitcoin-related activities are an extremely tempting target due to how easy bitcoins are to move around. So bitcoin companies have to consider the risk of hacking as a function of money spent on security.
And while we don't have all the information yet, suggesting BitStamp is just as bad as MtGox seems to be a wild exaggeration to me.

hopefully its not related but couple weeks prior to bitstamp hack my withdrawals became disabled. I asked support whats going on they told me that my company is delinquent. Even us bank allows me to use my money but bitstamp wont..Hell with them. NOw i cant even close my account with them as it requires withdrawing all the money
