I'm trying to figure that out now, I've ruled out all my messages in my PM box and I checked all recent orders on Bitcoin websites... I have no idea were it came from... so strange.

There was a trojan going around that changed btc addresses in the clipboard to different addresses... can you copy other addresses and they stay intact?

I checked if i could copy the BTC address and paste it the same and it worked on multiple of them, but I always run Bitcoin on ubuntu linux. I doubt its a trojan and if it is -- its a good one!

Yeah... is it anywhere in your address book? if it was a change address the coins would still be in the wallet...

which part of the address book? receiving or sending? it may be an address you saved to send something to and never did (maybe some site that has multiple deposit addresses like glbse?)

Why did you send exactly that value?

Because on the outputs of the tx that the poster above me discovered there are other 2 addresses that got that same amount that was sent to them and is now being used as an output. Maybe a clue Wink

1JWxJG7JNCqfan9NT3xCQXmTCqNHuQJkTb (1.6783032 BTC - Output)
1FSGYYVZ6ZaA9pptm1vWU2rGGRBYrxqGrQ (1.6783032 BTC - Output)
1CHRmNAdkScEoErgjZswa4ojFrF6xB6Ka4 (1.6783032 BTC - Output)

Coincidence? I don't think so lol

Also, if you notice, https://blockchain.info/address/1K5SZQkvhwSd3m2xzenizcmYJ9tnUt52W5 sent a 5 BTC transaction and sent the change back to the same address.

I sent exactly that amount to CINFU for domain registration and transfers two transactions to 1FSGYYVZ6ZaA9pptm1vWU2rGGRBYrxqGrQ and 1CHRmNAdkScEoErgjZswa4ojFrF6xB6Ka4 addresses I sent to cinfu for that stuff. hmmm maybe CINFU have my lost coins... 1JWxJG7JNCqfan9NT3xCQXmTCqNHuQJkTb

I opened a ticket to see if they owned that address, I provided them with screen shots and tons of information to help me with the investigation process.. Thanks for your input guys I don't know how to  follow the block chain well on a visual scale like most people can with blockchain.info and stuff

Agreed, it's pretty cool. Google's spiders have many legs.

or using Chrome browsers as spiders, this way if multiple Chrome users viewed non-indexed page they figure it's of some importance

I bet they use some kind of hashing to save on space when it comes to checking "newness" too Wink
