Please help me out here...

Does Bitcoin analogize to gold? Is gold an excellent example of a precious resource?

Let's discuss resources. Let's discuss free markets.

Everything. Politics is the management of resources and society is built on resources. Free markets (or not so free markets) determine the usage and depletion of resources.

I think a more poignant question would be why you asked such a question.

Let me rephrase for the semantically anal among us: The management of markets and resources is generally considered to be a fundamental component of society.

If I remember my dead languages, it is specifically the exercise of power over people by people.

Which is essentially the management of resources, at the most fundamental level, because a population cannot remain viable without resources.
