It was always a scam, the greedy weaklings using their cunning to scam us, one way or another.
The rot with alts started with Feathercoin. Cryptsy didn't help, but Bittrex nailed the coffin down.
Also the BTC exchanges, Gox, Stamp, BTC-e, etc.
You wouldn't leave them in charge of your personal information.

Crypto's not dead yet, and there are good and bad sides to most things. There's good new technology being developed through new alts, but there's a bad side, especially the scams.

Good point, far too many scams, although: Crypto's not dead yet, and there are good and bad sides to most things. There's good new technology being developed through new alts, but there's a bad side, especially the scams.

Even if Bitcoin kills crypto, something will take it's place and replace bitcoin. Like someone else said, this is an amazing invention and we are lucky to have discovered it this early. Now is the time to invest because when it becomes something bigger, as in it actually becomes a day to day currency that we can get our paycheck with, go to 7-11 and buy a slurpy with then think of what the market value must be in order to run a government. |

well actually its not dead yet. the one holding cryptos back is the scam coins. if it is possible to filter before a coin can be offered so that no scam coin would appear btc and other cryptos would be in better shape
and although btc has a high value. there arent a lot of people who really understand bitcoins. new investors who only got interested of btc because of the sudden price spike will of course hold btc down
they are not familliar of btc so when price gets lower new investors have a high tendency to dump immadiately the coins fearing they might loose all the money, instead of holding it
