Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Would've been better if you released it for free or at the very least in a non-DRM format, in the spirit of the Bitcoin/cryptocurrency movement itself.

Actually you can search and learn about cryptocurrency online.
Why bother to pay when you can do it for free. lol

Just think about the author over 2 or 3 years with (hmm, let's say, over 500,000 books sold at £20/book).
Now do the math Shocked

Alot of information has been brought together into a nicely presented product.  I am aware that much information is online, but there will be people who would like a piece of merchandise that puts many coins (one year old or more) in a historical context.

I wouldn't pay for a cryptocurrency book, there is so many information already in the internet...
Even this forum can teach you more than that book lol.
And it was released in dmr format, can't pay for it in cryptocurrency either, ironic huh?

There are nicely presented sites and guides on cryptocurrency on the net, you just gotta find them...

Very good point!  A book about cryptocurrencies should most definitely be available for sale in bitcoin.

BTW, here's the amzon.com link for the States.

I might, if for no other reason than to have all of the information compiled in one place. Why do universities still use textbooks, all the information is online?

If it was the right price (<$10), came in a digital non-DRM format and I could pay with Bitcoin, I would buy it for lols.

Is there any proof that author of this book actually knows what he is talking about?
What makes one an expert in crypto-currency?

- Number of posts on BitcoinTalk (certainly not)
- Number of years dealing with crypt-currency (certainly not)
- Number of trades on the exchange (certainly not)
- Number of contributions to source code (helps, but not)
- Years of reading/learning about it (helps, but not)
- Year of mining crypto-currency (helps, but not)
- Launching your own crypto-currency (not)
- Being a member of some crypto-currency board (not)
- Running successful crypto-currency business (not)

^^^ all of the above = maybe
What did author do? My guess, not much of listed. Therefore he is not an expert.
