Great to see that BitStamp did not run away after begin hacked. Anyway, I remember seeing a thread this morning with 8 people saying Bitstamp will return.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

The article says European Union and the United States law enforcement agencies are investigating the hack. It would be great if the hacker gets caught this time.

Merlak said various institutions from the European Union and the United States were investigating the security breach without naming them. The Slovenian police told Reuters it was not involved in the investigation.

Merlak, 28, and his colleague Nejc Kodric, 25, both computer experts, founded Bitstamp in 2011. According to the Slovenian media the two had earned about 23 million euros ($27.2 million) from the enterprise which places them among the 50 richest Slovenians. ($1 = 0.8469 euros)

They earned $27.2 million between them? If this is true, they will have no problems bringing Bitstamp back to life.

I hope so. Hackers usually have a habit of getting away with things Embarrassed

A relief rally is de rigeur now. How far can it go? If it gets to squeezing the shorts - then it can go pretty high.

Are they open yet?

If they survive the "bank run" it will create a very bullish situation IMO.

The first time in history a "bank" has actually had the shit they claim they do?!?!?! (legit.. I don't think it's happened before they ALWAYS have less gold, w/e than they said they do.. always)

Quote
"Trading will resume during the day today," Damijan Merlak, one of Bitstamp's two Slovenian founders, told Reuters in an emailed message on Friday.

Problem is, "today" is running out in Slovenia, or in the UK for that matter.  Still 7 or 8 hours to go until midnight...
