The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Are you sure it's outputting errors? Warnings would be expected behavior (but should be fixed--feel free to submit patches), and errors would not result in a completed build..

I'm an independent developer working on bitcoin-core, making my living off community donations.

I have NO knowledge of Macs, but at least until a few days ago I used the Qt SDK 1.2, which includes Qt Creator 2.4.1 / MinGW based on GCC 4.4 and Qt 4.8.1. I switched over to GCC 4.7 with Qt 4.8.2 during the last couple of days.

Can you post a list or screenshot of the errors / warnings you get?

Dia
