She's either a dodohead or really thinks the whole 'like' thing gives her an edge media-wise or sounds cool. However, if it's the latter she's not really taking into account who the target audience currently is and what the, like, average iq level is around these parts. Last I checked, I'm in the mid to higher 120s and am probably at the lower level of the spectrum around cryptoland.
Cryptoland has changed quite a bit and the average IQ will continue to drop as it becomes more mainstream. The reporter is mainly concerned with Bitcoins price without looking at what the actual technology can do. She most likely views bitcoin as a stock investment where its only importance is price and gains.
Also Bitstamp being hacked and losing Bitcoins (which is now back up and running without customers losing funds) has nothing to do with Bitpay. She also sees every hack/loss as the same, even when the Bitpay co-founder stated that they are learning from other peoples mistakes so that they don't make the same mistakes.
I highly doubt she has ever used bitcoin and she probably has no clue how it actually works. Price movement is usually the only importance to these types of reporters.
