Hey
I'm seeing there is a guy named "mprep" in this gambling section. What's his tasks? Right now there are at least 6+ ponzi topics. Why don't anyone delete them? This is getting ridiculous.
I hope he/she will move this topic to the right section.

I saw grue deleting posts related to primedice video through which a person was trying to distribute keyloggers. Don't knwo about mprep. However its not the job of the moderators to keep the forum clean of ponzis. People should apply their own brain before investing somewhere. And this topic needs to be moved to meta.

Mods do not remove Ponzis and such because they're giving you a chance to use your common sense.

There is no rule against ponzis. Even if they are obvious scams, they will not be removed.

Unfortunately ponzis are allowed by this forum and no amount of discussion seems to change that.
Even until recently they were openly advertising via the forum. Theymos supports them for some reason

He probably supports the advertising dollars, not the ponzis.

The forum has policy of not moderating scams. The attitude towards ponzis is just a corollary. Also can ponzis that announce with all letters they are ponzis be considered scams?

I understand forum policy and why ponzis are allowed/advertised but is BTC worth ignoring ethics?
This hurts Bitcoin overall. When no one takes this currency seriously because its only related to scams, gambling, and drugs.
Take some responsibilty. Yes its hard but its the right thing to do.

He isn't a mod of the gambling section, but he is likely busy moderating other things that are actually against the rules.

Gambling board has no particular moderator. Ponzi threads are categorizing as gambling and they should not be deleted. Mprep is altcoin board moderator and patroller. I don't know how you found his name in gambling board.

Definitely. It's not only related to those things but only idiots will think like this or use that sort of logic and we cannot be responsible for the thoughts of idiots. Can you not gamble or buy drugs or scam with the money in your pocket? Of course you can and also much easier than with bitcoin.

You can mock the general populace but a niche group of people isn't going to make Bitcoin accepted worldwide. The reality is that Bitcoin had its bubble and any "potential" future of it rests with the people innovating it. These are the things my friends think (far from idiots you condescending prick) and what any other person outside of this site I've talked to. I know you don't get out much. And no I can't gamble with cash easily and no if I wanted to scam people there would be a large paper trail. Get your head out of your ass.

Nice ad hominem, but I'm sure you and your friends aren't as smart as you think you are. Your logic is naive and childish and so is the way you deal with criticism. Anyone who thinks like this is just an ignorant sheep with cliched, easily refutable opinions whether you want to admit it or not but the masses usually come to their senses and realise a good idea over time (and usually when it's too late for them to have made any money from it and they rue their ignorance). Most of these people including you and your genius friends will have likely said the same thing about the Internet - bbbbbut you can buy child porn and scam people on it... It'll never work! And no I can't gamble with cash easily and no if I wanted to scam people there would be a large paper trail. Get your head out of your ass. You can't gamble easily? You must either live in a country where it's banned or are underage (the latter would explain a lot).

Well, since I'm here, I'll confirm the already stated: ponzis and scams aren't removed unless they break any other rule. Why? Volume of accusations, possible moderator bias and often shaky evidence and witnesses.
Regarding what I do, I moderate what rules prohibit, usually every day.

You must either live in a country where it's banned or are underage (the latter would explain a lot). Your pretentiousness is dripping from every word you type. I guess being staff has made you more of a pompous prick then you were before. Remember you have 13748 posts on an internet forum. I can't gamble for example in sportsbook as there are none available in the state of California. I would have to drive to Nevada to partake in these activities. It is much easier to gamble through my computer or mobile phone with BTC which is instant for withdrawals/deposits. Fiat sportsbook online have exorbitant fees for withdrawals. Only certain drugs are available to any person and that is through a series of real life networking. Sometimes these people aren't the nicest in the bunch and there is a chance of being hurt/robbed in a real life drug trade. It is much easier to order these products through an online marketplace and have them mailed to you. Scams such as ponzis are illegal in most countries but they are allowed to run without impunity through BTC. There are hundreds of cases where people have run of with hundreds/thousands of BTC equivalent to thousands/millions of dollars. If this were with fiat, it would be much easier to track and prosecute those responsible for this. So yes, once again, take your massive, pompous head out of your hairy, haven't washed for weeks ass and take a look at the larger picture.

He is moderating. The forum does not moderate (potential) scams as it is impossible to know for sure when something is a scam.
Also it is not even possible to know when something is a scam.
If you are going to complain about mprep at least complain about the altcoin section which he is actually a moderator of
