What happened:: User (JonnyQuid) wanted to receive a $400 USD WU payment in exchange for bitcoins. User (A newbie) was not willing to go first, and insisted I go first. Insisted on using a third party escrow out of the forums (Gave me some random link to LocalBitcoins) when I refused to send first. In my personal opinion, I do not trust this user. His "name" (John) that he signs his PMs with does not match his WU information (Sheikh Naveed Ali).Scammers Profile Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=410450Reference Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=920140.msg10108554#msg10108554Amount Scammed: 0.00 BTC (Refused to deal with him)Payment Method: Western UnionProof of Payment: None (Refused to deal with him)PM/Chat Logs: Just ask me for them - I don't feel like taking 4 screen shots and putting them on imgur unless I have to.Additional Notes: This user did not scam any coins or currency out of me. I am posting this here as a warning to other users as to his suspicious behavior. I'm afraid I haven't had many positive transactions with users from Dubai who assume false identities and demand to have Western Union sent to them ahead of time.

Hey. I have $400 cash for a WU transfer and I can do an international wire for another $550.
What kind of a rate can you give me on your coins? Hello
Price: 200.77 GBP / BTC Payment method:Western Union
you pay the fees.
Regards John That's a lot cheaper than Dr. Exchanger.
Send me your WU info - the office I use is just down the street from me.
First Name: Last Name: Country:
I'll send an even $400 USD, making the BTC total 1.32 (At the rate you gave me).
If my math isn't correct, just let me know. I'm only stating the totals for my records. hello again sorry for late response
first - Sheikh Naveed
last - Ali
country - Dubai
Mobile number ********
Coins will only be sent once payment is confirmed.
1.25 BTC trade for 400$USD\ 1,469.12 AED
you pay all the transfer fees
Deal ........................….No. I'm not sending a non-refundable payment to Dubai to a newbie.
My Trust is flawless. If you're serious about selling your coins, send the 1.25 BTC to: 1DVNbLRM8q65D7moYJWcNTLHpPLmVUGsR7
Once the blockchain gets 1 confirmation, I'll walk down to WU and send the wire. No Thanks.
If you need escrow go to my localbitcoin account https://localbitcoins.com/ad/148192/purchase-bitcoin-western-union-united-kingdom
No Problems I will earn my trust here the hard way my prices rock everyone elses
Regards John
Suit yourself. This is typical scammy behavior. I'm posting this in Scam Accusations. A newbie demanding third party escrow and not trusting reputable forum members? Lol.
Good luck with your business.
This is how this user conducts his business need I say anymore

That's exactly how I conduct business - I believe that a newbie with no Trust is a scammer if he wants me to send a WU payment to a third world country. Yep. That's how I do business.
Now if you would have said "Hey. I don't trust you, so why don't we use TomatoCage or SaltySpitoon as an escrow?", I would have said "Okay, great!" Instead, you took a shot at getting a WU payment up front, and you avoided using a trusted forum escrow. Your localbitcoin account doesn't mean shit to me, or anyone else.
Try to get any other reputable buyer/seller on here to send you WU first and watch them laugh at you. You scammers need to try a little harder, or just go away. It's not funny any more. I've had to sift through at least 4 of you people in the past 12 hours. I'm tired of it.
I'm going back to my old ways and making scam accusations against anyone whom I suspect of scammy behavior. If others want to listen to me, fine. If they don't, then the best of luck in their future trades with those people.

WorldWideBTC, you should've suggested using a trusted forum escrow. If he refused it then you'd know he likely had scamming on his mind.
From the dialogue posted, he told you to send first. You responded by telling him to send first. He responded by suggesting a localbitcoins account which hasn't even had any confirmed trades. That's when you should've pulled out Danny Hamilton's name or someone similar.

Some people do not feel comfortable using a person as escrow (I don't have any examples but some escrows have scammed in the past and it is always possible their computer is hacked, PGP key and everything - although the chances are overall low).
As a result they would rather use Local Bitcoins as escrow. I personally think it would be easier to scam via LBC but others do not feel that way

Escrow is a must here to protect both of you. I must be missing something because you yourself have very little trust on this forum. All your positive feedback was from early last year and for small amounts, you sent first or used escrow?

Worldwide BTC got mad because I would not rush into selling him the coins. He only will pay western union, and freaked out when I recommended escrow on localbitcoins. a lot of users here recommend LB ? some other user tomatoecage has left me negative feedback for no reason at all. I now think this is WWBTC playing games this child has a lot of free time on his hands.
Anyway to all the genuine people who still would like bitcoin find me on Local bitcoin a for escrow.
I am trying to get the negative removed.
As you can see by the chat above I have not stepped out of line once.
Happy new year

Escrow is a must here to protect both of you. I must be missing something because you yourself have very little trust on this forum. All your positive feedback was from early last year and for small amounts, you sent first or used escrow? I've also refunded BTC when something has gone wrong. I'm not going to debate my Trust ratings here, I just got a bad vibe when someone does a lot of hand waving instead of using a proper escrow. Anyway to all the genuine people who still would like bitcoin find me on Local bitcoin a for escrow.
Why not use TomatoCage or someone else that virtually every reputable user on here uses? Again, I get a bad feeling when these conditions are met: 1: A new user is accepting non-refundable payment methods (BTC, WU, Whatever). 2: They don't encourage escrow or talk about it up front, and instead encourage you to send them coins. 3: When refused, they suggest escrow that isn't "local" (the forum). If a scam accusation was too much, then I'll hear what the community has to say about it - I'm not close-minded at all. Personally however, I do not trust this user, and that's what the Trust rating and this thread is about. He only will pay western union, and freaked out when I recommended escrow on localbitcoins. a lot of users here recommend LB ? Actually, I could have also paid via a bank transfer, but we never discussed that. And I didn't "freak out" when you recommended escrow, I "freaked out" when I saw all of the typical conditions being met for a scam. I'll admit that I know very little about localbitcoins escrow, but I'm -guessing- there is a way to scam that system so that the escrow fails to protect one of the parties involved. Anyway. I'm done here. This is all my viewpoint about this particular user and his business methods. Good luck.

I'm not taking sides or accusing anyone of anything but how is it fair that JonnyQuid gets negative feedback from both redsn0w and Tomatocage but WorldWideBTC doesn't. JonnyQuid was willing to use escrow through localbitcoins. This is not a surprise. There are quite a few people here who prefer localbitcoins over trusted forum members. I myself dealt with trusted members here who wouldn't use escrow through forum members but had no problems with localbitcoins. Tomato and redsn0w, did you miss this message from WorldWideBTC: My Trust is flawless. If you're serious about selling your coins, send the 1.25 BTC to: 1DVNbLRM8q65D7moYJWcNTLHpPLmVUGsR7
He wanted JonnyQuid to send first, no escrow. Right? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=205881 - Last trust was left in March 2014. WorldWideBTC was away for awhile, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=550247.msg6016121#msg6016121 posted on April 1, 2014 and his next post was on December 12, 2014, unless I'm missing something like deleted posts. We ALL know bitcointalk is full of scammers, long term and short term. This could very much be a hacked or sold account with the scammer being smart and waiting instead of trying to scam right away. Like I said at the beginning, I'm not accusing anyone but if this was a scam, it could have gone either way.

Even the most reputable members of the forum always offer escrow (even if they are on the top 8 escrow list). JonnyQuid was offering to use escrow that he thought to be safe (LBC) while you demanded that he send first. You may have a difference in opinion on what kind of escrow service can be relied upon however he was offering to use some kind of escrow. I am not endorsing LBC nor saying that you cannot scam via LBC however a lot of successful trades are done via LBC

I've never interacted with LBC escrow, and I just assumed it was less than legit (Or at least not as secure as a normal forum escrow). If it was a little huge to open a scam accusation thread then so be it, but there's two things here that aren't right: 1: JonnyQuid left false feedback stating that I have multiple accounts and try to scam sellers. There's no evidence of that. 2: I got a slice of negative feedback for asking that a new user "send first". That doesn't make sense. Shipitbuddy is another user who does business fairly often - Tomato left him a neutral Trust stating "Use escrow", etc. That would be more appropriate here than getting "neg repped". I got the message - it seems just as shady (less, actually) when I ask -anyone- to send a non-refundable currency to me without escrow, but I hardly think that deserves negative trust from a big name around here. I dunno. This is just a bit irksome that when I open a thread on someone else, I get neg repped. Obviously I won't be doing that any more, but if you check my post history, I've made scam accusations before that were spot on.
