First off, I'm not writing this to promote any other coin, it's simply and plainly critique of Bytecoin itself.
Not only does it show up from nowhere, after secretly being mined for 2 years without
anyone on bitcointalk noticing it. When they do show up, they make sure to do so with mysterious music playing in the background
http://bytecoin.org/old/index.htmlWhat they are trying to achieve here is to implant the idea that they are a group of stereotypical
'mysterious hacker geniuses' who knows something that the rest of the world doesn't. This is to gain your loyalty, because they know that this will appeal to a community that is driven by Internet and its technology.
The reality is that the stereotypical hacker is more of a movie fiction we see in Matrix and such, which deliberately combines reality and fiction in order to deceive. There are some hackers in the world, but the TRUE hackers are the people who work at NSA, who have studied complicated maths and advanced computer technology at Harvard university.
Their latest blog post was this:
Our planet will soon complete one more circle around the Sun. Traditionally, it is the time we recapped on the past year events.
Cryptocurrencies have grown up in the past year. They no longer should be considered as toys for programmers or the triumph of pure mathematics.
Next year they will enter the large world, become known to the masses and serve their true purpose. This is the area of the nearest development.
That is what we were bracing ourselves for during this autumn and winter. Early next year we'll showcase a new convenient interface that will make Bytecoin very simple to use in the daily life.
We hope that the past year had been as productive for you as it had been for us and wish you an even more successful next year. Thank you for your support. See you in 2015.
Bytecoin Team
Wow. I can almost feel it when reading it, that they intentionally are using an undertone to make it seem like they are the almighty who knows exactly how the future will pan out - psychological tricks.
Another thing, if they supposedly are a bunch of 'mysterious hacker geniuses', how come that they on their website are linking to an exchange called
HitBTC.com?
HitBTC is very high-tech, and keeps track of peoples IP-addresses. Whenever you make a trade or sign up, your IP-address and location gets shoved right in your face.
Wouldn't a team of 'mysterious hacker geniuses' take distance from this kind of a thing? They also make sure to list it prior to Poloniex, which was one of the first exchanges to include Bytecoin trades.
The problem is not that these guys are 'mysterious hacker geniuses', but that they in contrast probably are working with some kind of government authority or sect. I have a feeling that they will keep their promises and release something major soon, just in time for the Bitcoin collapse when people realize that Bitcoin doesn't provide sufficient anonymity - then suddenly, newsflash: "BYTECOIN, the savior and the successor!" Then they'll let us buy our share for a dear price, just as with gold, where they already control 99% and let the sheeple trade scraps and pieces among each other.
What more is there to be find about these tricksters? Also, we need a game plan, because I predict that the next time they make appearance, it will be major.
