Raspberry Pi, BFGMiner, and Antminer U1/U2s

Some questions about running U1/U2s on a Raspberry Pi B+ using BFGMiner (Debian Wheazy):

1) I can get the Pi to recognize one miner consistently and occasionally two when plugged directly into the Pi. The Pi won't recognize any miners plugged into a powered hub (the setup works well in a Win 7 environment). Any ideas?

2) Given #1, how many miners can I run using powered hubs on the Pi?

3) When using BFGMiner I can seem to get it to recognize the configuration file. I suspect I can force it with a particular command line but don't know the syntax. Any ideas? (I recognize this one might need to go to another forum)

Any help appreciated.

Just took a look at it but it doesn't address my questions since it is

a) a different miner
b) using different software

(unless I'm missing something on both accounts)

I have the BFGMiner software running and can get one miner to recognized and working it's the multiple issue I really want to address.

Yes, I used it for a different miner... but;

This should work on an Antminer U1 and U2 too; and,

Although it is different software, at least it should work...

Bonus would be: worst case scenario it didn't help, but you learn even more by doing it...

Actually I think I solved my problem though not in the manner I expected. I bought a U3 and in the process of getting it to run under CGMiner, things started working like their supposed to. It could have been a problem with the BFGMiner build code I used or it may just be the difference between the two pieses of mining software. I never could get CGMiner to run under Windows 7...

I have run an RPi with both U1 and U2 with bfgminer. I don't recall the bfgminer level. I always had the U1 and U2 on a solid powered hub (e.g. a 7 port Dlink with plenty of power). What I always did was after I booted the Rpi, but before I tried to run bfgminer, I would look for and count the /dev/ttyUSB* entries. There should be one for each U1/U2. That tells you if the Pi
has recognized them. I also recall having to build bfgminer with some specific argument to make sure it had the right driver, and recognition software included.

This may all be moot if you are happy with cgminer.

I have a raspberry Pi B+ and 4 U1/2s.  Three U2s are connected to a powered hub and the U1 is connected to one of the RPi USB ports.
There is a configuration change to allow the Pi ports to source 1.2A I recollect.  That suggest it may be possible to have 2 U2s connected directly - but I have not tried it.
My USB(2) hub is crap - with 3 antminers connected it drops a lot of volts - I think I'm feeding it with 5.7V to get 4.5V at the USB device.

With a B+ or the new Raspberry Pi 2 it might be possible to connect 2 U2s directly - but no more.

I got things figured out and now have 4 PIs running a totall of 10 U1/U2s and 1 U3 and still have one pi idling as a standby. THe U1/U2s are running under BFGMiner and the U3 is running under cCGMiner.  I working out a stability issue with the U3 where it will run for several hours and then the process will stop with no apparent error. Not sure if it's the PI, CGMiner, or comms...

its a common problem with pi and cgminer i ran into it alot with my hex furry.... completely crashing my pi

Are you running different ant miner models on the same raspberry pi?  I have a U3 and and U2 on the way, so I was wondering if I'd be able to run them on a single pi with cgminer.  Or are the different models just running on separate pi's?
