I was thinking to myself, why bitcoin and similar crypto-currencies seem to be so hidden in obscurity that nobody knows about it, apart from a small number of us here. I thought to myself, the media may not always portray things accurately, but in the internet age alot of websites have sections where you can post comments. I decided to try it out and posted to several news articles which were relevant to economics/business and put short messages about Bitcoin. I was wondering whether anyone thinks this is a good idea, and whether more of us should do this, after all we do all have a stake here if we own coins or are invested in the community here...

Let me know what you think and what your opinion is...

Keep it up! The more tailored to the topic of the articles and witted your comment, the better. Just refrain from straight forward spamming or trolling.

I have posted several already, but it is hard work and its not something I am used to. If anyone is interested in posting on my behalf, and can read articles and post intelligible replies about bitcoin, namecoin or litecoin, then I would be happy to pay between 0.05 - 0.1 BTC for each one that you post (if you can send me a link to it) ...

This is generally a good idea, with a caveat. I've seen many well-intended attempts that, when read with a fresh mind, sounded like a scam, or spam at best. Please don't overdo it, and look at things from the perspective of potential readers, not from your own.

In find the PR page on the Wiki - https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Public_relations - well written and sensible, and I try to adhere to what's currently suggested there.

I know, but instead I have tried to do things differently... Rather than talk about bitcoin, I generally talk about the article, and then at the end mention how Bitcoin is available and let them research more into it if they want. I dont even post a link to the site because that might be seen as spam/advertising...

And bitcoin should fit with the story. If not, no use mentioning it.

Yeh, usually they are articles related to finance, currency, money, economics or business, so bitcoin would be applicable...

Does anyone wanna help me out with this?

I suggest you PM members of the forum you find eloquent and in line with your way of thinking about Bitcoin, and ask for help with specific Sites. I wouldn't want search results on certain topics or articles leading to threads in the forum where we appear to conspire to spam comment sections.

Ive already got several past, or on sites with no moderation.

Also, I am not trying to sell Bitcoin to anyone, simply mentioning the word Bitcoin or Litecoin or Namecoin is a plus...

I have also created an IRC channel on Freenode

#btc-promoteam

Which is a promotional team that I am thinking of creating to do this. If anyone wants to drop by to ask questions, or discuss anything, that would be great...

In that thread, OP also states he may have been hacked. Since we don't know who is actually running his account, I'd advise against doing ANY business with OP at all.
