You did the right thing letting them know their mistake.  A monetary reward is not necessary for honesty.  Your reward is knowing your integrity is still in check.

+1  though, a 'thank you' would have been a nice bonus atleast. ;p

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system. - GA

So far, I thought i am great. But your actions proved you are great.
A huge difference between just telling about 30 Bitcoins & returning 25000 USD.
Congrats for your honesty.

.
.

Kudos for your honesty.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I have done that: (IRL, before bitcoin, and with BTC:) refunded excess cash to several bitcoin exchanges, past and present.  Never expected nor got awards.

Sometimes, for example, they would process my withdrawal, but fail to deduct the funds from my account.

Other times, I would spot race conditions in their systems and point out to them how it increased my balance.

(Of course, the other way happened as well - their bugs reducing your balance - and you point it out.)

Likewise, I have made mistakes, and IME, people are generally honest.  In the latest incident, aethero of quickbitcoins.net returned the extra 200 btc I accidentally sent him.

Passed up 25K.. Could have done a lot with that, you are surely one honest person.

I wish more people on this forum were half as honest as you.

Hi everyone, as we can see BTC-e's input, they have thanked me and I can confirm that I received that little bonus. Of course, I was not expecting anything. "Thank you" is what I was hoping for and got it.  Smiley

I wish there was more honest people, I've been scammed 5-6 times this year and I just hate that when people run away with a handful of money. Wasting time and money.

Problems come and go, it only matters how we handle them.

Best Wishes to all of you!

Great example to newbies? 4 stars doesn't necessarily mean that you can trust someone. Smiley

I know this is way up in the clouds, but you must still consider this to be a setup to attempt a scam in the future. < This is just speculation, always keep your mind open.

Yeah but you have one of the owners of the site who confirmed this.

So this guy is pre-approved of not scamming up to 25k! Heh.

I received half a million by accident, can I get a bonus as well? Wink

It's good that BTC-e confirmed it, otherwise I would have not believed it. Everybody can make a convincing screenshot.

Your screenshot isn't very convincing.  If +540,000 USD was your last transaction, why don't you have at least 540,000 USD current balance?
