Still holding here. It can't go down forever!
DONT BE STUPID, SELL NOW ,AND BUY BACK LATER Still hodling Don't be stupid, buy when everyone else cry ! Not time yet. And selling above 700$ was so easy .. after the GOX debacle a 1-2 year price correction had to come. And STAMP is facing the same as GOX. We will not see 1000$ this year, maybe in 2-3 years. Long term bitcoin could be a winner, but in TECH, you never know. Something better could emerge with proper daily usage. Using not thrustworthy scamchanged will not help bitcoin grow.

Ahh getting back to the levels in price when I first heard about BTC... and got into cryptos.
IMO, Now I know how it was like last big crash back when it was getting off the ground.
I still hold buy some/ mine-exchange for more.
If it gets down to zero ( which I see as very very unlikely... but who knows ) all I have lost is some hobby money along with some free time.
To be honest, all this doom and gloom people are just pathetic in my eyes.

You can't seriously compare Bitstamp to MtGox. The two situations, companies, and their issues, are all COMPLETELY different.

Oh, and someone tell me again, whats the reason for this crash? Bitstamp controls the price of the item that they need to buy to make up for their hacking loss. Is anyone really surprised? If you can control the price of something that you need to buy...what would YOU do? How can they control the price? Aren't there other exchanges as well?

It's funny how some people are panicking while holding few bitcoins. There is what 12-13 millions of bitcoin beign held right now by many people and only tiny fraction of this is traded on the market . Calm down people and just buy some more to awerage price. If you think that this technology has no future then you shouldnt be here anyway. And if you decide to sell then know that it's you who is making it worse for no reason.
yes but those holders. at least of 10m btc bought in or mined when prices were well below $10. they dont care about those that bought in the last 18 months who are now significantly under in their gambles/investments.

Me too. I see it as having bought a lottery ticket for the long run, with a drawing 20 - 30 years from now. I expect it to go to 0, but I hope to win and have a great retirement :-) Like with any lottery ticket, but this one is fun !

if it goes down to $10. so be it. I indeed wasted time and money here. That is all. Not much really. about around $1000 i guess. I will forget about it anyway.

If you're still long, you better be in the LONG term because it aint going back $500 anytime soon.

That was my idea when buying a few coins from the start: to hold them 15 - 20 years at least.

Of course hold! I think this is the best chance you'll get if you are not deep into Bitcoin yet to get started and buy some. I keep buying even though I already have a substantial amount.

Bitcoin is risky investment in experimental technology. Those greedy monkeys who expected insane profits in short time and sold their houses to get in with maximum leverage deserve being burnt and lost everything. They are just food for market sharks.
Those, who invested as much as they can afford to lose and have patience being calm and wait for years, will eventually win.

okay, honestly. maybe. If I did sell at around $500+. it would be great. I have like 2-3 BTC still sitting. Sold a btc when it was $600. But I see no point in selling now. It could break $300 again. Too quick. call it stupidity I am hodling. Yeah, well the price might as well hit $100. But fuck it. $225 and $100 has no difference. It might hit $220 again in a week or two. Oh, and someone tell me again, whats the reason for this crash? The smart move is to be buying more (and also trading) to dramatically lower your average cost.

You should not be buying any Bitcoin at this price. Not a single one. We are far from the bottom.

Shorting after the price gone down this much is a little risky.
