Easiest is to buy straight out.
Second is to mine if you enjoy it. BTC is so low though buying direct deserves a look at.

Buying would be the easiest option but if you meant earning $1000 worth of Bitcoin than there is no easy way and you will have to earn it the same way as you earn $.

What would be the easiest way to come up with a $1,000 bitcoins?
By order (from easiest to hardest one) : - Simply buy them using other payment methods you have (Paypal,Skrill,Neteller,Amazon Gift cards , WebMoney , Wester Union etc..) . Either from "Currency Exchange" section here on btc talk (trusted members) forums or https://localbitcoins.com/
- If you are experienced on Programming languages or GFX or something , simply offer your services for Bitcoin or just sell some digital goods that you have
- Enroll in a signature compaign , you can find a list here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0 , note that it may takes you a lot of time to rank up to ranks like Sr Member or above (which have a decent amount of payment) & also take other time (months) to earn the money from them
I hope I helped you out mate , feel free to ask any questions . ~ Madness

Do you mean to buy $1000 worth of Bitcoins, or buy $1000 valued Bitcoins?
If you mean the latter, those days are gone by the way of Gox. All we have is downward sell pressure nowadays.
If you mean like 5 BTC, then Circle or Coinbase if online, LocalBitcoins if done face to face.
If you mean earn $1000 worth of Bitcoins, then you'll have to work for it. Sell goods or services, and offer to be paid in BTC.

It depens if you mean acquiring bitcoin or earning/winning bitcoin.
If you want to buy there is lot of exchanges to buy depending on where you are from.
If you mean earning easiest may be gambling, but obviously there is a relation bewteen difficulty and risk.

Why a Bitcoin exchange silly! You can use Coinbase or Circle online, or if you want to exchange it with a real live person, then use LocalBitcoins.

Yes, those are the 2 largest "exchanges" in the US. If you'd rather do an in person trade, search LocalBitcoins for the most trusted seller, and use the website as an escrow.
