I reported this post to a mod because you clearly are breaking the rules (link i posted)
The rule you linked to says that you shouldn't give people incentives to post in your thread. The post you're complaining about didn't do that. You are trolling (badly) again. Here's the rule you linked to: To be specific, I'm referring to "Post in this thread for free x". That belongs in Games and Rounds. Though it isn't limited to that, in general you shouldn't be giving people incentives to post in your thread, it's disruptive to actual discussion.

Say that 10 times fast Out of how many of those addresses would you say there are any funds? No idea man, really hard to say. Any mathematicians here do some math for us I am working on a python script right now that will crawl the database randomly and return any addresses that have anything more then dust in them....which I probably would need to start my own Distributed network of computers to even get a result Maybe an idea for the future? Edit: also, that number is how many pages there are. Addresses would be that number times 33 (because there is 33 private keys on each page)....soooooo the number of addresses would beeeeee: 10526553567028745038506453182607991622985233116279536762055014831047105590395 Which in words would be: Ten quattuorvigintillion, five hundred and twenty-six trevigintillion, five hundred and fifty-three duovigintillion, five hundred and sixty-seven unvigintillion, twenty-eight vigintillion, seven hundred and forty-five novemdecillion, thirty-eight octodecillion, five hundred and six septendecillion, four hundred and fifty-three sexdecillion, one hundred and eighty-two quindecillion, six hundred and seven quattuordecillion, nine hundred and ninety-one tredecillion, six hundred and twenty-two duodecillion, nine hundred and eighty-five undecillion, two hundred and thirty-three decillion, one hundred and sixteen nonillion, two hundred and seventy-nine octillion, five hundred and thirty-six septillion, seven hundred and sixty-two sextillion, fifty-five quintillion, fourteen quadrillion, eight hundred and thirty-one trillion, forty-seven billion, one hundred and five million, five hundred and ninety thousand, three hundred and ninety-five. That is how many Bitcoin addresses there are on that site. :O

Thanks for posting this. I thought I remembered that the original was a hoax. The sad thing is that if this was legit it really would be a good reason for bitcoin to go to zero. No reason for you to not have fun with it BAC, good luck to you.

OP, you plan on releasing the source code for the site?
This is freaking cool as helllllllllllllll
There is a fair bit more updating and adding to go in the website. At this point we aren't releasing it, but maybe in the future if it works out how I imagine! Out of how many of those addresses would you say there are any funds? This will addressed in the next update. There will be a "Richest Page" that displays the richest of the 4 coins and how many addresses are funded. It's totally possible to see how many addresses have coins stored on them! Thanks for posting this. I thought I remembered that the original was a hoax. The sad thing is that if this was legit it really would be a good reason for bitcoin to go to zero. This is 100% legit, but chances of stumbling across a address that currently has coins in it is very very small. Wilco, Mikey and myself have all found old addresses that had been in use in the middle of the pages. I think it shows the power of these coins + Buttcoins shows how all BTC, CLAM, LTC and DOGE relate to each other. No reason for you to not have fun with it BAC, good luck to you.
Thanks man I've been having fun with it tbh!

This looks great! Buttcoins! Brilliant! Superb! There is no better. Best of luck to you in this strange yet profitable and mildly erotic journey through a vast sea of digits and numerical poetry masked in a style sheet and brought to life by the hands of a brilliant coder fueled solely by caffeine induced motivation coupled with a mild trance inducing GUI fit for a king. Best of luck i do say, best of luck.

Your chance is like 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 percent. Or winning a 5/55 lotto 10 times in a row.

There are a total of 2^160 valid bitcoin addresses. (2^160 ≈ 1 460 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000) There are roughly only 62 000 000 addresses ever being used (has or had a positive balance). https://btc.blockr.io/trivia/blockchain

You don't own the word Buttcoins. We have tons of Buttcoins minted in the JD chat. Your favicon... the only thing I grabbed from the reddit is the Giggly butt thing in the reserve post. The picture of the Buttcoins filling up from the butt pushing them out came out of JD. Our picture of a butt on the site is a different picture of a butt than you use too. We don't like the Skinny Butt route... that mofo needs some MEAT on it Feel free to use it! My site is not aimed to be anywhere in the same ball field as Buttcoins.org or ButtcoinFoundation.. Right now I'm nothing like your gay blogs. Buttcoins.com 0 to do with blogs ect. We are focused on developing "Cloud Wiping" which is a poke at Cloud Mining that might actually be semi interesting. You seem pretty up set over some Buttcoins rofl. Send a DMCA is all I can say and then maybe cry about it... that may make you feel better. Feel free to PM me or Call me. I don't want to piss anyone off with Buttcoins Mtgox couldn't stop people from using the Bitcoin logo either, so why not try to let the Buttcoiners have something similar? And you're selling ad space on top of that too, that's great.
You wana buy a spot I think Buttcoins.org or ButtcoinFoundation.com would look great at the top for a few BTC

YES Satoshis coins are in there some where! how? are these all the adresses that were ever created? The addresses are all generated on the fly against whatever page number you are looking at. You will see there are tons and tons of pages, so the chances are very slim to say the least The purpose of this site is to show how all cryptos share a priv key, they are all public and the list is HUGE. I'm pretty excited for Cloud Wiping.

Nothing is impossible. You could find Satoshi or a FED wallet with the first page guess if you are really really lucky.. It could be a few life times away too. Soon there will me a method that you can automatically crawl the addresses month to month. Like a science experiment kind of.

Stealing/use your name? Not sure what you mean... the url "Buttcoins.com" I bought it... You don't own the word Buttcoins. We have tons of Buttcoins minted in the JD chat.
I've used the word Buttcoin is some form of another since June 2011. I don't have a claim to a pun or even the domain however, that's not my problem with the site. Your favicon... the only thing I grabbed from the reddit is the Giggly butt thing in the reserve post. The picture of the Buttcoins filling up from the butt pushing them out came out of JD. Our picture of a butt on the site is a different picture of a butt than you use too. We don't like the Skinny Butt route... that mofo needs some MEAT on it Feel free to use it! https://i.imgur.com/0nxE8eW.pngI'm not sure you understand how copyright images work. You can't just claim you "found it" and therefore there's no claim to copyright. Your site favicon is the same as mine http://buttcoinfoundation.org/favicon.icohttp://buttcoins.com/favicon.icoYour gif is from my site in 2011 as well http://www.buttcoinfoundation.org/why-should-i-invest-in-bitcoinsYour logo is a rip from mine. It's absolutely unoriginal.
And I would agree with you if you weren't blatently taking the images from the site I own and the subreddit I created. You literally just did a google image search for "buttcoin", grabbed my images, ran them through mspaint a bit and claimed them as your own. If you had buttcoins.com with an original design then I would have no problems. But the fact that you have buttcoins.com AND are using my images is a problem. Using my images send the message that I have something to do with Buttcoins.com which I do not. Remove my images and there's no issue, continue to run your site as you see fit. You seem pretty up set over some Buttcoins rofl. Send a DMCA is all I can say and then maybe cry about it... that may make you feel better. Feel free to PM me or Call me. I don't want to piss anyone off with Buttcoins You wana buy a spot I think Buttcoins.org or ButtcoinFoundation.com would look great at the top for a few BTC I'm just upset with the theft of my work. I don't want to go down the DMCA road but will if I have to. It wouldn't be my first time and probably wouldn't by my last. Just change your infringing images and enjoy your clever domain. No crying from me, just do what's right.

I actually think I got it from reddit, but so be it there is your ref. As far as the favicon I'd rather not change it. I feel like that is the Symbol of Buttcoins much like how the B is the symbol for buttcoins. We have put our own twist in the Butt on the page, but the favicon icon is the general "Buttcoin Logo"... I think it should stay that way tbh. Edit: I will change the faviicon to if it helps you sleep at night Always funny to make a Buttcoiner cry! You make a living playing on peoples upset emotions and now look at cha!

I also added neutral feedback via forums that you have NOTHING to do with Buttcoins.com. Will change the tiny favi icon asap. So we coolio? I just want my fun little project for myself and no issues

Let's have Wilco switch to our sexy behind for the favi icon and let the cry baby get on with his trolly Copy Write life. Our shape is no where near the same, the filling colors are no where near the same and both imagines are orange inspired by Bitcoin.

Thanks for posting this. I thought I remembered that the original was a hoax. The sad thing is that if this was legit it really would be a good reason for bitcoin to go to zero. Sorry, but that coindesk article is wrong: directory.io (and buttcoins.com) lists *every* Bitcoin private key. So it's not at all true to say that it doesn't list any existing Bitcoin private keys. In fact it lists all of them. And it isn't true to say that they're all empty either. Every funded private key is listed. It's just that there are lots more empty ones than funded ones. I just found one of my private keys on buttcoins.com. It's on page 22819940191606639116975694561815449148405524752991894461049828182848439406xx Fill in the two missing digits and steal my coins. Strong disagree about it being a rip of your logo as well. It'd be really cool if we could all come to one agreement on what the Buttcoin logo is and then not fight about it. All it hurts is the small Buttcoin community when people bicker over silly shit like this! "The Buttcoin Round Table of Elites!" omgz No worries though. <3 Edit: Give me a day to get that favi icon changed to our own... I don't do any work on the site, so I'll have to get a hold of the dude who can. Sorry for the delay/early morning issues. I'd be interested in a link swap if you ever were ever interested!

You sold your site to Butterfly Labs, who bought it so they could get rid of some critical reviews. Perhaps you got ripped off, but buttcoin.org is now Butterfly Labs, and they make a living.

I had someone else design mine as well. Maybe I'm not as imaginative as I thought I was. Give me a day to get that favi icon changed to our own... I don't do any work on the site, so I'll have to get a hold of the dude who can. Sorry for the delay/early morning issues.
Yeah no worries. Is what's going on with the site your final project or are you going to do something else with it? Just reading on what you posted in other threads You sold your site to Butterfly Labs, who bought it so they could get rid of some critical reviews. Perhaps you got ripped off, but buttcoin.org is now Butterfly Labs, and they make a living.
Butterfly Labs used a front to buy the buttcoin.org website to remove negative reviews. Buttcoin.org shut down when the FTC seized their assets and I restarted the site ButtcoinFoundation.org to continue, although with my current workload it serves more as an archive than an active site. The twitter and subreddit are still pretty active. You can read about the whole BFL/Buttcoin debacle here, I don't hide anything. http://www.buttcoinfoundation.org/the-story-of-when-buttcoin-org-sold-out-and-how-butterfly-labs-turned-it-and-other-sites-into-a-marketing-machineBFL owns other popular websites such as WeUseCoins.com too.

Thats a lot of addresses to check I narrowed it down to 100 pages from some stupidly massive number. And it's still too much work. I don't know if I mentioned that it's a Bitcoin address, but it is. So that cuts the work by another factor of 4.

This also shows how many addresses there are because going even through 100 pages is a rather taunting task. Especially when done by hand

I just found one of my private keys on buttcoins.com. It's on page 22819940191606639116975694561815449148405524752991894461049828182848439406xx Fill in the two missing digits and steal my coins. Really? Starting at page 600, the first exponent is: a67d92e70fd6e022b17178ff22269fc1bdf52048bbad1f366b7ab76cb37919d8 on page 699 the last exponent is a67d92e70fd6e022b17178ff22269fc1bdf52048bbad1f366b7ab76cb37926bb. Subtract them, and we have about 3300 keys to check. So I've looped through, generated them all, import them into bitcoind: http://privatepaste.com/9513fa2a9f and then run a full scan. It doesn't find anything You imported the privkeys uncompressed. It was however in a wallet with compressed pubkey: https://blockchain.info/tx/6975f36ce09792ec82513dec0f535fc0f26e8b037d687e9067b298d13f517ddb

It doesn't find anything Huh. You're the 3rd person to miss it already. It's there, the exponent is between the two you mention. No trickery.

But you are SO WRONG BAC!! Buttcoiners cry WITH THEIR BUTT!! A little hard to draw maybe but still!
AND I WANT THAT CLOUD WIPING! What ever it is lol it sounds fun!
Easier than you'd think! South Park as a great episode. "Buttcoin is a peer-to-peer butt. Peer-to-peer means that no central authority issues new butts or tracks butts. These tasks are managed collectively by the network. It’s like a bitcoin, but with butts instead." Not like Bitcoin at all if I can use the fucking Buttcoin img on a Buttcoin project! Is what's going on with the site your final project or are you going to do something else with it?
More! It is a cool & special idea. I actually am very good about coming up with my own shit and not just trying to make the same thing over and over... which is why it is a bit fucking rude of you to call me unimaginative. It's cool. I just thought we could brand that beautiful image you made together. Guess not Cloud Wiping is coming along well. We have some interesting methods that we are currently testing as to make sure the computer power is best used. Wilco (the main developer of the project) has become busy with trying to set up a CLAM pool for another private client. Honestly, everyone that I know / chat pool needs another CLAM pool option to help decentralize the network way more than a silly cloud wiper . This will be done though... to my understanding we already have all the guts and everything, but working on Marketing, keeping the cost affordable, fun and still productive in our experiment. I want it to be super user friendly. Edit: Pushed post too soon. Still drawing.. will update done __________________________________________ | Buttcoin Cloud Wiping | | | | | | | | Start at page: (User can choose page here) | | | | On ____ Off___ | | | | You are using version x.x for cloud wiping | | To upgrade click here. | ____________________________________________ So if you have the miner click "on" at the first of the month the system bills you, if you have the miner clicked off at the first then no billing. It sounds to me that this "cloud wiping" is really just brute-forcing private keys; effectively you're trying to steal coins from other peoples' butts. You should call it "turd burgling" instead of "cloud wiping".

You should call it "turd burgling" instead of "cloud wiping". No, we are trying to sign addresses that aren't ours. It is an experiment to prove to the skeptics that Bitcoin and these other crypto currencies are strong because a large chunk of the world is proving it amazingly strong by taking a try at it. I've heard countless security experts talk about this, but I've never seen one say "What I'm telling you is true and here is a simple ass way you can test it from home." That is what the service is "filling" per say. This system will just give the "normal" person a chance to take a shot at it. I consider myself a normal person and primarily the project is being built for me and then anyone else who would like to participate can. How fucking sweet would it be to sign a Satoshi address due to like a "pool lottery" hunting for a thing that appears to be impossible! Kind of like a treasure hunt and maybe people in the future will put bounties for signatures on addresses !! Who knows how it goes. (I was and still sorta am thinking about giving people access to their miners through our network. If they did find something and steal something that would be on them... not sure how it is going to be done yet, but really if the strength is there in the system + the user is using the system properly this server should NEVER find a address.) I trust myself not to steal anything we sign, but like I said... I'm still considering giving people the info that they paid for. I can't say the rest of the world is as nice as myself. Still long down the road though as well! Edit: There has to be some type of law in BTC for squatters. So say if we did find a BTC address we could publicly post in places for 36mo looking for the owner and then after that it belongs to us. They have real estate laws like this as well. What if we stumble across someone who lost access to whatever wallet we found and forgot about Bitcoin.... are we still Turd stealers then or how could we do it where we didn't appear that way to the public?

No, we are trying to sign addresses that aren't ours. I mostly just wanted to use the term turd burglar since it amuses me in a childish kind of way. So you're saying that you're going to be trying to brute force private keys of Bitcoin addresses, but when you find a private key you'll just use it to sign a message with that key? So you can publish a message, "this address was wiped by buttcoins.com" and a signature that could only have been made by someone who knows the private key. Is that the plan? It is an experiment to prove to the skeptics that Bitcoin and these other crypto currencies are strong because a large chunk of the world is proving it amazingly strong by taking a try at it.
If "we" are right, and it is impossible to brute force private keys, then you end up with nothing to show for your efforts. A bunch of people pay for your service, and you have to tell them "sorry, we tried, but found nothing". To the outsider that looks exactly the same as if you took their money and didn't do anything... So I guess I still don't really get it. You either prove that Bitcoin security sucks, or you have no way of proving you're doing anything at all.

When the rich list is complete it will automatically let you know on the site. It is just taking a little longer than planned.

Just a science project. Some times she goes and some times she doesn't. My personal hypothesis is that the system doesn't find a live address on any of the coins listed on the site during my lifetime. "We" very well may end up with nothing, but if "we" do get nothing people also earn the knowledge of "I feel fine with $50,000 invested in Bitcoin because once in college I blew like $1,000 trying to pwn BTC Shits impossible don't waste your time, but if you DO want to waste your time try Buttcoins.com they've been on the hunt for 40 years with 1/10th of Facebooks people!" It's intend on being a positive thing and really help the average person understand how big and safe this system really is (myself included.) Edit: I ran a P2Pool once with Nix... I'm very used to answering people why they didn't get coins This one should be even easier! (People who switch from a communist pool to a P2Pool and don't have their shit set up right)

I am but I have a quick question. Why did you post this all over the Buttcoin subreddit? Making memes, posting off-board, why are you so spun about bout this? Seriously I had a simple request to stop using my images on a site with the same name as mine. I don't even care if you use the domain but you're kind of overreacting here.

Honestly, it is good for people to know that they can't use that image. I had no clue till you came here shitting on me. People are welcome to use our images ect if anyone ever needs. Just let it go and have a good one. No harm done and my bad. If I hurt your interweb feelers just put a bandaid on them and suck it up cowboy!

Cool fact- The number of pages there is on that site, expressed as a word is: Thirty-five quattuorvigintillion, eighty-eight trevigintillion, five hundred and eleven duovigintillion, eight hundred and ninety unvigintillion, ninety-five vigintillion, eight hundred and sixteen novemdecillion, seven hundred and ninety-five octodecillion, twenty-one septendecillion, five hundred and ten sexdecillion, six hundred and eight quindecillion, six hundred and ninety-three quattuordecillion, three hundred and five tredecillion, four hundred and nine duodecillion, nine hundred and fifty undecillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven decillion, fifty-four nonillion, two hundred and sixty-five octillion, one hundred and twenty-two septillion, five hundred and forty sextillion, one hundred and eighty-three quintillion, three hundred and eighty-two quadrillion, seven hundred and seventy trillion, one hundred and fifty-seven billion, eighteen million, six hundred and thirty-four thousand and six hundred and fifty. :O Man what the hell did I just read lmao The sites not working for me too BTW I was drawn because it has CLAM as an option.

/clap now that is a brilliant name! LOL And i totally forgot about that South Park episode! I guess they really were easier to do than i thought ! Might seem a bit harsh but if all the private keys are available for the taking, and there is no secondary protection on them, then by all means take the coins and take it as an intended feature of the coin.

There is no secondary protection, and can be none without changing how Bitcoin works. You can encrypt your bitcoin-qt wallet, but that just means your private key is stored encrypted on your hard drive. It doesn't change the fact that your private key is waiting on one of the zillions (for want of a better word) of pages on directory.io and buttcoins.com. The "only" protection you have is that there are SO many pages on those sites that it's impossible to search even a billionth of them even if we all worked together until the sun went out. This makes me think that "cloud wiping" will be just as disappointing as all these "cloud mining" operations.

Yes the amount of addresses is beyond the reach of anything we can throw at it at this current moment. Or at least it feels that way. As for the security and the possibility of finding a random key with coins. By all means and purposes its a part of the coin and an intended feature till it is changed, all a part of the "lottery" called crypto currency. You mean "turd burgling" right ? I have a feeling it will be like playing a lottery, only odds are against you by many many more orders of magnitude than on a lottery. A fun experiment non the less!

I have a tool that is called CoolPreviews and works pretty much everywhere so yeah, I don't even click the button to know if there is something in there.
Happen to have a link? I really do honestly love cruising over the pages just treasure hunting.
I have a Bitcoin address tool that I can just click a little button and it reveals the balance.
Care to share this tool ? Sure I'll find out what it is in a little bit and make a post!

If there are some wallets have btc, can we transfer the money to our wallet? I think so .Thats why you have the private key. So you will be able to access the funds.

Cross that bridge when you get there I do some times toss a few coins out here and there. Then post the pages in www.Just-dice.com chat or on this thread.

Yes, but look at the mind boggling number of pages. Thats the thing. The number of pages is so high that it is impossible for a human mind to understand how big the number really is.

What is the difference of Address and Compressed Address?
They are just two different ways of deriving an address from a private key. Each 256 bit private key provides access to two different independent Bitcoin addresses depending on whether you use the compressed format or not. Basically for each private key you need to check both addresses to really know whether it is funded at all.

I think people dont really understand the enormity of the issue at hand.. so here is a bit of something for you.
so there are a total of 2^160 valid bitcoin addresses....
Using a very rough estimate, there is about 10 trillion galaxies in the universe Each galaxy can be said to have an average of 100 billion stars
If one was to assume that each solar system had intelligent life in it using bitcoin...
You can assign up to 1.46 Trillion Trillion (no that is NOT a typo!) addresses per solar system

I just wanted to confirm that I managed to stumble across 2 address that at one time had coins, one as recently as Feb 15, 2015. However the wallet was emptied, activity seemed to indicate that it was a type of address used as an exchange of some sort. Sadly, there were no clams funded to that address either, so it was a dud. (edit: the above search took about 4 hours of searching. Not bad considering the math seemed to say otherwise...) Too bad it wasn't this address: https://blockchain.info/address/1LfV1tSt3KNyHpFJnAzrqsLFdeD2EvU1MK

I know of a good hand full of use who have stumped math thus far... the big accomplishment will be signing a address that actually has coins! I don't intend on withdrawing their coins personally right off the bat. I'm going to make a public announcement that a Private Key has been uncovered and the owner has 30 days to move the coins. Keep on fighting the good fight and maybe you will find one ! Gotta play to win right?! *fux math hard* Humans>>>Math

you realize that its actually nearly impossible yes? and most probably you should better buy a lottery ticket as it has more chances of winning big prize, though if you are really extremely lucky you might find some satoshis

Haha, I once made a simple VBA script in excel to compare the addresses on a page of directory.io to a list of adresses containing more than 1 btc or something. I was at page 5000 or so before directory.io either blocked me or went down itself. No result ofcourse.

few tiny updates
I've just recently stumbled upon buttcoins.com If in fact this list is valid for 4 different coins complete with links to check them. the person that compiled it can search it no ? so all you need is a address with coins in it, and its yours right. Or just a list of unclaimed clams, nice chunk of change ! If 1 smart person with a powerful computer and seemingly endless hard drive space can do this. the money masters could kill this game in a heartbeat no ? Or am I missing something here.

Those numbers I used were from 2014. I know a number of people (including myself) who have found empty Bitcoin addresses in the middle of the pages. Bitcoin is going to be the easiest to find right now I believe.

I checked other keys against the list, all those listed are valid, put a small fraction of possible keys. this list only starts with 5 so you figure how many exponential's more there could be hehe. Infinate I'm pretty sure this is just a numeric list, so add upper and lower case letters.... I give up :-)

Well the private keys listed there are all in Base58 WIF (For your reference: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Wallet_import_format). That's why they all starts with a 5.

If you have a signature campaign please feel free to post on this thread without being heckled or deleted! (by me anyways ) how do you go about searching the blockchain, and listing all address's with a balance ? I'm curious how the clam devs did this and hid the clams to those address's.

I'm not sure how they did it honestly. Each block in the chain is a list of transactions. Each transaction has a list of inputs and a list of outputs. Work through the transactions in order, keep a list of all the outputs which aren't used as inputs for other transactions. That gives you the list of unspent outputs. Each output has a script which says how it can be spent. The CLAM developers copied those outputs' scripts and put them into the CLAM block chain. For example, this BTC transaction funds 1CrPRwBkwZdEejXusCbh8o35YMN7g7ffKf with an output which has this script to spend it (it looks a little different but that is just because of how the different block explorers are displaying it. It is actually a byte for byte identical copy): The same script was used in this CLAM transaction to fund the corresponding CLAM address by making an output with the same script to spend it: To use an analogy, each public key (ie. address) is like a lock, and the corresponding private key is the key that unlocks it. The CLAM developers simply copied the locks from the BTC chain to the CLAM chain. They don't have access to the keys which open those locks, but since the locks are exact copies anyone who can unlock the BTC lock can also unlock the corresponding CLAM lock. Edit: I found one...

thanks for the reply :-) You just happen to find 1 that had 1 deposit, minutes before you found it ? boy is that guy gonna be pissed LOL [/quote] Is there a small program available that will generate these keys, I don't have the ability to write 1 myself. I'd just like to generate about 100K per day, and check them against a list of 40K + addys that have lost coins for fun. Seems many many of the original miners have never touched the coins they mined, every block of 50 BTC went to a new addy and just sat there. Seems http://www.directory.io is offline
