So we all good in the hood?

I've also sent this to ya via PM.

I am but I have a quick question.
Why did you post this all over the Buttcoin subreddit? Making memes, posting off-board, why are you so spun about bout this?

Seriously I had a simple request to stop using my images on a site with the same name as mine. I don't even care if you use the domain but you're kind of overreacting here.

You don't mind if I use the domain I own... Gee thanks.  Roll Eyes

You could have PM'ed me privately, but you chose to put it on my decent public thread.

So I put it a few places too.  Honestly, it is good for people to know that they can't use that image.  I had no clue till you came here shitting on me.  People are welcome to use our images ect if anyone ever needs.

Just let it go and have a good one.  No harm done and my bad.

If I hurt your interweb feelers just put a bandaid on them and suck it up cowboy! Wink

Cool fact- The number of pages there is on that site, expressed as a word is:
Quote
Thirty-five quattuorvigintillion, eighty-eight trevigintillion, five hundred and eleven duovigintillion, eight hundred and ninety unvigintillion, ninety-five vigintillion, eight hundred and sixteen novemdecillion, seven hundred and ninety-five octodecillion, twenty-one septendecillion, five hundred and ten sexdecillion, six hundred and eight quindecillion, six hundred and ninety-three quattuordecillion, three hundred and five tredecillion, four hundred and nine duodecillion, nine hundred and fifty undecillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven decillion, fifty-four nonillion, two hundred and sixty-five octillion, one hundred and twenty-two septillion, five hundred and forty sextillion, one hundred and eighty-three quintillion, three hundred and eighty-two quadrillion, seven hundred and seventy trillion, one hundred and fifty-seven billion, eighteen million, six hundred and thirty-four thousand and six hundred and fifty.

Say that 10 times fast Wink

Out of how many of those addresses would you say there are any funds?  Smiley

No idea man, really hard to say. Any mathematicians here do some math for us Wink

I am working on a python script right now that will crawl the database randomly and return any addresses that have anything more then dust in them....which I probably would need to start my own Distributed network of computers to even get a result Tongue   Maybe an idea for the future?

Edit: also, that number is how many pages there are. Addresses would be that number times 33 (because there is 33 private keys on each page)....soooooo the number of addresses would beeeeee:
10526553567028745038506453182607991622985233116279536762055014831047105590395

Which in words would be:
Ten quattuorvigintillion, five hundred and twenty-six trevigintillion, five hundred and fifty-three duovigintillion, five hundred and sixty-seven unvigintillion, twenty-eight vigintillion, seven hundred and forty-five novemdecillion, thirty-eight octodecillion, five hundred and six septendecillion, four hundred and fifty-three sexdecillion, one hundred and eighty-two quindecillion, six hundred and seven quattuordecillion, nine hundred and ninety-one tredecillion, six hundred and twenty-two duodecillion, nine hundred and eighty-five undecillion, two hundred and thirty-three decillion, one hundred and sixteen nonillion, two hundred and seventy-nine octillion, five hundred and thirty-six septillion, seven hundred and sixty-two sextillion, fifty-five quintillion, fourteen quadrillion, eight hundred and thirty-one trillion, forty-seven billion, one hundred and five million, five hundred and ninety thousand, three hundred and ninety-five.

That is how many Bitcoin addresses there are on that site. :O

Man what the hell did I just read lmao

The sites not working for me too BTW I was drawn because it has CLAM as an option.

You should call it "turd burgling" instead of "cloud wiping".
/clap now that is a brilliant name! LOL

And i totally forgot about that South Park episode! I guess they really were easier to do than i thought !

Might seem a bit harsh but if all the private keys are available for the taking, and there is no secondary protection on them, then by all means take the coins and take it as an intended feature of the coin.

There is no secondary protection, and can be none without changing how Bitcoin works.

You can encrypt your bitcoin-qt wallet, but that just means your private key is stored encrypted on your hard drive. It doesn't change the fact that your private key is waiting on one of the zillions (for want of a better word) of pages on directory.io and buttcoins.com.

The "only" protection you have is that there are SO many pages on those sites that it's impossible to search even a billionth of them even if we all worked together until the sun went out.

This makes me think that "cloud wiping" will be just as disappointing as all these "cloud mining" operations.

Yes the amount of addresses is beyond the reach of anything we can throw at it at this current moment. Or at least it feels that way.

As for the security and the possibility of finding a random key with coins. By all means and purposes its a part of the coin and an intended feature till it is changed, all a part of the "lottery" called crypto currency.

You mean "turd burgling" right ? I have a feeling it will be like playing a lottery, only odds are against you by many many more orders of magnitude than on a lottery.
A fun experiment non the less!

I really do honestly love cruising over the pages just treasure hunting.

I have a Bitcoin address tool that I can just click  a little button and it reveals the balance.

I think so .Thats why you have the private key. So you will be able to access the funds.
