Hello,

I was wondering if you guys know of a way to make mining use less electricity, but be back to regular when not mining so my PC isn't laggy while preforming regular task on it or even game.

Thank you.

What miner are you (planning on) using?

Using sgminer v5 to mine X11. These are my current settings:
Code:
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:11111 -u PabiGamito.1 -p x -I 17 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-powertune 5 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 128 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1250 --auto-fan --temp-target 72 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80

Lowering Intensity will lower your power consumption WAY, WAY slower than it lowers the hashrate.

Undervolt everything you can! IF you can.

Also, if you have very high temperatures, you might try lowering them... but with a single card it's highly unlikely you will measure any meaningful difference.

lower your core/mem setting with msi afterbuerner

lower your intensity with cgminer

mine coin that use efficient algo or that don't use all your gpu power

I used to mine X11 on AMD (it was a Sapphire HD 7950).

Undervolt your card. Changing intensity or engine, memory specs can also be explored but in my experience I found undervolting the reliable method to control power consumption.
