After reading that poll results I am optimistic that people are so full of good energy here. You think that bitcoin in 2015 will reach $1000. It would be awesome but I am here to shake your opinion - it won't happen. Market it being influenced by huge forces and they won't allow btc price to go higher than $400 threshold.

The price has gone up a lot today and it almost reached above $285. I hope in the coming days, it manages to cross $350 as the price has been continuously increasing since few days now

I would expect the price to reach over 300 by the end of the week. Lets just hope it crosses that mark, as its going to be a big barrier overtaken once that happens.

It would be a nice number to slap on the feeling of trend-reversal that has seemed to be starting over the last month.

We are not out of the woods as of yet. We are now, most probably, experiencing trend reversal and thus, we shouldn't expect the fireworks in terms of price. Having a $150 gain from $200 area in less than 6 weeks is probably too optimistic, and wouldn't look good in the long term, either.

Let the price talk and let them think that way... Maybe a reversal can be seen though as you said, we can expect it because that high gain could be seen more as a bubble than a profit.

That is my point exactly: we need to see steady growth. Nothing of a kind, bubble-like pump. Because that is usually the last stage of the growth, usually followed by a solid dump. For now what we need is $15-20 jumps, and shallow corrections, like this last one.

The market's too thin and piddly to allow for steady growth at the moment. It'll continue in waves of despair and elation until it becomes considerably larger and then it's that much harder to bat around.

Look at all time graphs on some companies and you see after a couple bubbles, there is a bubble that eventually corrects itself but helps stablishing like a +50% floor (after correction) compared to the pre-rally phase. Sometimes not even a correction is needed and price sustains:

Doubt there are some grat forces manipulating the prices greatly, its an open market, and the price reacts how people allow it to., there are some minor pumps and dumps ofc. But i also highly doubt that we will see >1000 this year, but 2016 with the block halving and miners dump halved, it probably will happen. cheers

If it keeps on going as the last days, i think we can reach the 500 easely. But it depends on so many things. Good news, bad news, ... That's so with everything on the market.

I think he doesn't know what is called as "stable situation", might be... He should give some explanation on this as to why he thinks BTC might drop to 100 bucks. I will be more than happy to buy some if he wants to sell his BTC currently to me for $100.

Sometimes not even a correction is needed and price sustains: -snip- Sure, that happens to some companies, no doubt about it. What makes a difference in Bitcoin case to the graph you presented, is that so far the two big bubbles have been based on the speculation purely. There was no fundamental reason for such high valuation, and thus the dumps the followed. As soon as we have better adoption for example that may be one of the fundamental reasons to establish a new higher equilibrium after the next rally (bubble?) phase.

If the etf comes into effect I see 500 easily. If it flops 200-300 is probably where it will stay around
