At this point it is crystal clear for me that we are going to retest sub 200$ levels before a real reversal. i guess its gonna happen this or next week, before next auction date announcement, once it happens - there will be a solid uptrend to the new ATH due to incoming stock markets crash coming later this year and banking system failure.

How did you say that it is crystal clear to you that we're going to see $200 this week or next week? The 50k auction didn't have that much effect to us, so how come is the $200 level crystal clear to you? o.O

Crystal clear you say, do you have a crystal ball? I will be straight we will not be going anywhere near sub 200's this or next week lol although we may go to 220 - 230. There is one more auction in the summer if i am right and that is for 30k so why would that cause anything if this 50k never  Grin You are in the know of a lot i will leave you to the so called failing banks and market crash..
the last auction is for 44k of coins. But I agree, it should mean close to none.

The 50 K auction has had no infliuence or any effect on the price whatsoever. It was just bought, doesn't mean it will be dumped.
the coins will be dumped when the price rises accordingly. But we are far from that point atm. Therefore I believe that currently there is no further point in discussing the influence of the auction event. Not that close to the low of the one year down trend.

Why do you think they will be dumped. I really don't think that they were bought to be dumped right after . They also paid a premium to buy them.
I think the coins will be dumped when the gain will be high enough, not now - I stated that in my post. Read the part in bold once again.

Past Prediction: FINANCE PROFESSOR: Bitcoin Will Crash To $10 By Mid-2014

"Bitcoin lacks the essential attributes that are needed to support a widely recognized transactional currency.  If Bitcoin was allowed to proliferate as a currency it would produce greater economic uncertainty, reduced trade and lower individual standard of living."

"Bitcoin has not taken off as a transactional currency and is further undermined by the fact that the majority of Bitcoin owners hoard e-coins. The more hoarded the less available to buy goods and services and spur economic growth."

It's too bad that a professor at Boston University is so bearish on BTC. At least there's people from equally unknown schools such as Stanford, Harvard and MIT who think otherwise.  Embarrassed

Guys, that is the prediction from the end of 2013. He seemed to nail that one, but since then things changed a bit already.

with no major news to drive the price, $500 target is a fair guess.
people saying $1000 this year are fantasy thinkers.

I marked $300-500 for the same reason. I do not expect any major events for Bitcoin in 2015. 2016 is another story, with Gemini and halving event, but let's first get there. For now I expect more sideways move, probably for most of 2015.

$500-600
I am hoping we just hold steady in the $300 and slowly grow from there.

i expect some fireworks from gemini but not sure how it will work out once they open their doors.
halving for me at this point is not that important.

Bitcoin Investment Trust

No one's actually received any of their shares to sell yet. Regardless of that, it's an odd little setup by the looks of things. It'll be a pretty tiny pool of sellers and plenty will be underwater. Their shares were locked up for 12 months so I can't imagine they'll be in a hurry to sell anything.

It will be interesting to watch how the market will react when (or if) the ETF will be approved.

If it ever comes into existence, that'll be the real deal. GBTC looks strangely stunted in comparison but maybe they've got some fancy plans if any momentum ever develops.
