Hello,

TLDR, public address computed by blockchain.info wallet after import of a bitaddress.org private key does not correspond to public address on paper wallet.

I have generated a paper wallet with bitaddress.org. I sent a few bits to one of the addresses. I imported the corresponding private key in Electrum and was able to move some bits to another address.

I have tried to import the same private key in my blockchain.info wallet. (bitaddress.org claims it is in Wallet Import Format.)

However, the public address shown into my blockchain.info wallet after import is not the same as the public address computed after import by Electrum (which is obviously the same as the public address available on my paper wallet).

Can anyone explain me what I misunderstand or the mistake I make or if there is a known problem with blockchain.info private key import ?

Thanks

Hi,

I now succeded to import the private key into my blockchain.info wallet.

It seems I made a typo twice when I tried to import my private key.

I am surprised typos are not caught.

I thought there was a checksum in WIF format. Is this correct ?

Is there a way for blockchain.info to detect that the user makes a typo ?

Thanks

It`s good to see that you find resolution now. I am using the same method and it works for me well.
