For Bitcoin to have value as a generally accepted payment method, two things need to happen: It must be very easy to obtain bitcoins and it must be very easy (and cost effective) to use them to purchase a wide variety of goods.
Not bad, is it? I want a second prize at least.

Now this made me go and find out what the heck ZiftrCOINs are and what they're worth.
What I found out made me think the grand prize is grand, I'm entering.

What do you call mass acceptance exactly? When housewives can buy groceries with it?

I wonder why they sponsor a contest about bitcoins though, aren't they supposed to be promoting this new coin of theirs?

Sort of too obvious for a prize.

I think this guy is right: Vitalik Buterin, Author at Bitcoin Magazine responds:
Banking integration is the main challenge; businesses need ways to integrate Bitcoin efficiently and then immediately sell the bitcoins if they do not want to get exposed to the price volatility.

Well if the new coin does not turn out to sell for 1 BTC each after presale, the first prize looks ok for a short article.
I think I'm game.
