Is it possible to use a command line argument to set the usage to let's say 20/30% to render the pc available to perform other tasks? (just internet browsing, normal windows pre-installed games with no lag)?

I'm using http://www.multiminerapp.com if relevant, only gpu mining usually.

nice app... you can reduce gpu usage by using low intensity on standard miners

My question was exactly how to set that up ( i'm fairly noob), i'm pretty sure as i said that there is a command line argument to set such thing, but i haven't found anything so far...

To reduce itensity, like djm34 mentioned, there's a parameter -I for SGminer. Value 11-14 is normal value, you can do other tasks while mining. Increasing this value increases mining speed but your computer will start to become slower. Max. value you should use, as far as I know, is 18 (when doing no other tasks).

For CPU mining with a throttling feature, you could check out Magi (XMG) coin. There's a tool to reduce cpu usage
