Anyone want to help spread education and good word about Bitcoin? Go to the CNN Money article (link above) and leave comments to help educate readers. It's amazing the misinformation and general bullshit being spread. One person referred to Bitcoin as a company!?

The article, for the most part, puts Bitcoin in a positive light.

http://betabeat.com/2014/03/bitcoin-ceo-found-dead-of-possible-suicide-in-singapore/ as an example.
The content used "bitcoin exchange firm CEO" while the news headline uses "Bitcoin CEO".

media is saying the truth. Bitcoin is a bubble, full of speculators and manipulators(including the big exchangers).
of course, there are some dreamers and honest people who thinks that they will be rich fi they use Bitcoin.

Media can be truly loathesome and biased, but this article isn't too bad. There are so many negative quotes they could have chosen to highlight (Buffet et al) but instead they merely point out that the fundamental properties of bitcoin seem to matter far less to the valuation than speculative haze, add that those who bought in two years ago are still impressively in the green, and praise the transactional ease of use.

Edit: yeah, the comments, same old crap. Quite mild compared to the trolling around here of late  Grin

It's like trying to educate creationists on how the universe works, extremely tiring, tedious and they're likely to just ignore you anyway Sad Oh and this has been posted before. Also, I've become convinced that these people who are making these comments about Bitcoin are deliberately trying to spread bullshit, hell, now I think about it, it could even be the news networks' staff themselves, it's certainly not impossible, there are definitely people on gaming forums for example that are out to silence any criticism and pick fights with critics at a moments notice, you see it all the time.

Surviving 24 hours on bitcoin is possible but not easy but I'm sure it will be a reality some day that it will become much much more easier with wider adoption.

EDIT: The article links XBT as a symbol, it was awarded? I remember it being perused but don't remember hearing anything after.

I don't know if it's in the ISO standard doc yet. However, it seems fait accompli since organizations like Xe started using it - probably over a year ago.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

I've been convicted of heresy. Convicted by a mere known extortionist. Read my Trust for details.

The CEO of a small bitcoin exchange had committed suicide a little over a year ago. I believe it was speculated that it was due to the stress of running a company.

There were similar "rumors" that bitcoin filed for bankruptcy around the time that gox collapsed.......people are idiots
