What is the HIGHEST price you can remember buying BTC for on an exchange? Quantity is irrelevant.
You can post your answer if you like, with where you bought it and the approximate date if you can remember. You don't have to say how much you bought Wink

For me it was approximately $900 per bitcoin in 2014. Unfortunately I got owned by the Willy bot price manipulation and China bitcoin ban  Sad

Poll notes:
As time goes on, more and more new users will be answering this poll with higher and higher figures, so I limited this poll run for 60 days to preserve the accuracy of this poll as it was conducted in 2015.

Don't forget to vote on the other poll for the LOWEST price you can remember buying BTC for

With the startling buying pressure following the FinCEN guidance I allowed myself to buy some at about 92 USD/BTC on the way up to the April 2013 peak.

You are my hero. Lol. I'm wondering what your lowest was. Your highest is lower than my lowest ($96/btc).

Around 400 is when I started buying again. Buying many more at these levels. Buy low, sell high, ignore the trolls. That's how you play the game.

96 USD/BTC is pretty good though.  The price hasn't been that low for over a year.  What's the highest rate at which you've sold BTC?

I'm no hero though.  I've made some horrible trades including selling most of my bitcoins at about 8 USD/BTC just before the June 2011 bubble Embarrassed.

I remember buying at 600. That was when I was shorting from 900. Those were fun days, it was so easy to predict that th eprice was going down.

Bought some coin in the $600 to $800 range in very early 2014.

Bought my first Antminer S1 from a Sushi Group Buy with the coin and actually ROI'ed with it.

Great feelings then eventually sold my farm mid to late summer of 2014, anticipating what we're all seeing right now with mining.

While I was mining it was great though.  Seeing those 0.01 BTC transactions come in on Bitcoin QT were a joy to behold.

Think highest I've bought was $590, that was on a short reversal where I managed to sell a couple of coins high in the 700s, then rebought on bounce.

Agree with Coinshot, market used to SEEM so much more predictable, don't know whether it really was or not.

Interesting poll results.

It shows that the majority of people have paid over $200 at some point for a bitcoin.

Goes to show you how broadly the willy bot price manipulation affected many of us. We all lost money to that bot in the form of speculative loss by buying artificially high priced bitcoin. Angry

I think only now, over a year later, the price is finally settled into it's natural range again.
