Yes, ponzi equals to give all your money to a single person, and hope that he send back more to you. This usually involves some " fair"  scheme, like paying back first the first investors, but most of times resolves with the person owning the address running away.

Of course sending money to a ponzi is a risk because you need to trust the ponzi owner (very hard) and hope that a lot of other fools people sends btc after you, or that nobody post a funnier cat 

I would discourage everybody to trust a ponzi owner and send him money in the hope he sends back more to you.
