Their Game Developers have launched a "pay-what-you-want" indie game package, and they are accepting payments with Bitcoin!

https://gamedevbundle.com/

Reported today at Business Insider

http://www.businessinsider.com/the-reddit-community-has-launched-an-exclusive-game-dev-bundle-2012-7

Follow them on Twitter

https://twitter.com/GameDevBundle/

Thanks to Coinabul and others for sending them our way.  They were up and running, fully automated, in about an hour using BitPay.

Glad to see they got Bit-pay up and running. I was starting to wonder if they had given up on it. Time to buy some more games in addition to the 10 or so I'll probably pick up on the Steam summer sale.  Tongue

It's a smart move on their part, I almost did a bitcoin buy in even though I'm not really interested in the games at all. Almost, and since I'm a bit of a tightwad when it comes to these indy collections I bet there* were quite a few who actually bought in.

I selected bitcoin and entered 1 for amount since I read that was what you needed to get the extra game. On the next screen it said to donate $5 more to gain access to extra content. So I assumed the blank meant "dollars worth of bitcoin". So I made it 6 and now it goes to the bit-pay screen asking for 6BTC. Someone who has their ear ought get them to clarify what is going on from the very first screen.

edit: also, very awesome

I see what you mean.

You can always abandon the invoice, back up, enter 1 BTC, and resubmit.

I did. Do you know how long till I should get an email?

It would be cool if they displayed how many and how much they received via bitcoin.

Freemoney you won't get an email from Bitpay since this merchant is using our API. We send an email when a merchant uses our shopping cart and Buy Now buttons.

And it looks like we have a Bitcoiner on the top donors list!  Sweet!

I thought the EFF mention was interesting.

I wonder if the EFF knows that this bundle is accepting Bitcoin. They specifically don't accept Bitcoin themselves because they think they may have to one day defend Bitcoin and don't want a conflict of interest.

I just got my copy, with bonus!

it looks like they added that.  And there are 3 bitcoiners now on the leaderboard.  It's neat how they have bitcoin fully integrated with all of their other payment methods, and not a standalone thing.

Nice timing - I was just reading about bit-pay integration, after seeing their slick integration. I'm still using a manual (special case) process to activate memberships to my game (see Island Forge in sig), because the existing PayPal membership logic doesn't understand Bitcoin.

Seeing their integration in action and getting a strong response from the community is great for both the gaming and Bitcoin markets.

Nyhm yes take a look at our API documentation on our site.  It works like PayPal's API.

https://bit-pay.com/api.html

send me an email info@bitpay.com if you have any questions.  You can use our automated processing system, we can just forward you the bitcoins, and the processing fee is 0.99%.
