Hi! I've been looking for ways to use bitcoin to solve the cash problem that the Cannabis/Marijuana industry has been having for the past few years. Does anybody know of anybody who is working on the subject or committed to a project like this?

Hopefully we can come up with a solution and make it happen!

Bitcoin is the way forward in society. Drugs not so much.

The bitcoin space would benefit greatly from involvement in the Legal Cannabis industry. There is a huge problem in that industry because of their federal requirement to handle only cash. Bitcoin has the potential to solve that problem.

If cannabis companies were to use bitcoin as a means of currency, the demand and liquidity of bitcoin would skyrocket, increasing the value, stability, and the attention to the public as a less risky technology. Not only that but there would be no need for armored vehicles and armed gaurds to handle millions of dollars in cash transactions, putting people trying to operate legitimate businesses at risk.

You may not think that drugs are moving society forward, but having a legitimate way of doing business after a long spell of prohibition is a good thing, because it keeps innocent people out of jail and adds an entirely new market to be added to the world economy. Just like bitcoin, these ideas actually go hand in hand very well.

Yes, but bitcoin will get a bad image and negative publicity.

This is actually a much trickier problem that it may first seem as Marijuana money requires additional FinCEN reporting. There are also other intricacies.
