sorry newbie here!!!


Where do I put the bootstrap.dat file after I have downloaded it via torrent?  I am using a mac 10.10.

%appdata%/Roaming/Bitcoin I think.

I never used MAC on my life to be honest but as far as I know it's ~/Library/Application Support/Bitecoin/ .
and If you are using Windows simply put it on the following location %appdata%/Roaming/Bitcoin

Always be sure to download the bootstrap file from a trusteable source.

Ideally you want to download it all by yourself from the begining tho... it should be ready in a day or two depending connection speed.
