The current version of the whitepaper uploaded on Sourceforge is from 2009-03-24. This is the second version of the whitepaper. The first version was published on 2008-10-31. It was uploaded to www.bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf which is where the current version also resides. Does anyone have the original version of the whitepaper? I have emailed the Satoshi Nakamoto Institute but have not heard back from them. Sergio Demian Lerner mentions the first version of the whitepaper on his blog but I have been unable to get him to send me a copy.

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

The first one had a lot more stuff about how people should avoid cloud mining scams, but they removed it because they felt it was too obvious and nobody would actually need to be told that.

Thanks billbags. I emailed everyone on the cryptography mailing list who had replied but nobody had a copy. I actually downloaded and read it at the time. But I'm not sure I have a copy. Anyway not on any media which is readily accessible. I made this reddit thread if anyone wants to upvote : https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2tfcsc/2008_revision_of_bitcoin_whitepaper/

Huh, that's really interesting, never heard about that! So there really was a previous draft? Did it contain serious problems, disadvantages or flaws? Or was it just some improvements concerning wording and such? I'd love to hear more about that!

Oh wow, that's interesting! I really wonder why no one is in possession of that document. Someone should do a diff and do a direct side-by-side comparison! I might just go ahead and see if I can find it somewhere online!

Has anybody looked in the Wayback Machine?
wayback machine usually doesn't save pictures and files. Specially if it is not a small one, like the Satoshi paper
