Might be because people are worried about Florida laws on selling bitcoins since those two guys were arrested in Florida for selling bitcoins without a license. Florida is a big fan of arresting people.

I don't think people would specially go about getting licensed for selling bitcoins in say a one time deal . However it might be essential for people who sell through localbitcoins.

Make a thread and ask on the Currency Exchange here. Might be a bit of a longshot. Have you tried local ads or gum tree as well? Make sure you don't get robbed, though lol.

Maybe it's worth trying one of the apps that integrate with Facebook and see if someone nearby is selling BTC. I think http://www.quickcoin.co/ does that.

Love it when idiots keep speculating BurtW's arrest. Without any info, yet they claimed he got arrested for selling bitcoins! These idiots are exactly the one who assume law from hearsay rather than knowing the law itself. Media did a great job again..... showing how dumb general public is.

The charges are in the indictment. Two are for selling bitcoins without a license and one is for money laundering. Are you from Florida? I take it you understand FL law? Not Florida -- Colorado.

No, there is no money laundering charge. It is for selling Bitcoins, on Localbitcoins.com, in Colorado, without a license. So far defending myself has cost our family almost $200,000 We can use all the help we can get, please see the fundraising web site put up by my wife Jean: http://www.burtw.com
|
Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security. Read all about it here: http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/ Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!
