I've read that some of you think the recent rise constitutes a short squeeze of piratat40s HYIP.

Was it ever established that that is what pirate is/was doing? Do you think the buy wall belongs to him?

imo squeezing is not in his best interest. he makes more money if he can just keep the price under control.

oh damn I blinked...  Huh
It was there just now.. now it's gone.


What I meant is that if pirate is effectively shorting BTC, or enabling his clients to do so. And the rise above 8 would be a sign that he lost control.

It was there just now.. now it's gone.


What I meant is that if pirate is effectively shorting BTC, or enabling his clients to do so.

He does sell BTC, but he rebuys as quickly as he can.  These is risk to upside moves, but it is limited to a couple hours at most.  His profits come from transaction fees he charges buyers, not from trying to "play the market".
