Merchants dont like chargebacks, consumers want reversible transactions.
So how do you solve the reversible transaction thing? Afaik its not doable..
Have bitcoin as the background mechanism with some kind of user friendly/merchant friendly platform built on top.... idk im just guessing, sounds like a job for paypal.
yeah I agree, or perhaps major credit card companies will adapt to this role (at least the ones that want to survive). My guess is they will be picky on who they service to make sure they are working with legitimate consumers with low chargeback type activity and they'll back these consumers themselves. They'll charge the merchant maybe 1% instead of the current 3%, but consumers will want to use them because of the protection.
