This is the first time ever I'm trying something other than Windows on my pc. I don't know what came over me yesterday lol, I was screwing around on the web as usual with nothing to do when I suddenly decided to try Linux. I spent most of the evening checking out a few different distros on Youtube (there are so freaking many of them
) and finally decided to give Linux Mint 17.1 xfce 64-bit a try. This morning I installed it (download was super fast and installation super easy) and WOW... I can't believe how sexy and polished and fast this OS is... and it's FREE!!!
I'm loving the simplicity of the design, everything looks so freaking neat and everything just works right out of the box
So yea if any of you guys have been thinking about trying Linux, I'd say DEFINITELY, go for it!
I've installed it as a dual boot but I don't think I'll be keeping Win 7 for very long (don't get me wrong Win 7 is great but Linux is something else) I just need to familiarize myself with using command line first.
Anyways if any of you hardcore Linux guys got any tips for a newbie, I'd love to hear them
