Site: http://whyusebitcoins.com

Hey Everyone! I've been working on this site for around a year putting time into it whenever I could, and I'm excited to launch it today and get some initial feedback!

Why Use Bitcoins

It's tough to get people interested in Bitcoin. I realized that by answering the question “Why use bitcoins?”, you give people a reason to care about it. Unfortunately, it seems the what & how questions greatly overshadow the why. So, I set out to build a small website in my free-time to answer this question.

My goal with the site was to give everyone a reason to care about Bitcoin. By showing people why they themselves and/or other people (including people in third world countries) should use bitcoins, I hope that people will finally have a reason to care about it. Currently, we do not have a lot of use cases on the site, but I hope to grow the site and add more use cases so that everyone will be able to see why they should use bitcoins.

My second goal was to make the site easily shareable. If you have friends who are in business and should accept Bitcoin, you can quickly share the page on Facebook or Twitter. You can also copy the link and send it out. Want to tell your mom & dad about how Bitcoin is being used in 3rd world countries to allow expansion, you can quickly do so. Please check out the site and leave some feedback!

For more info, you can check out the reddit announcement post here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2tvmfk/launching_my_website_why_use_bitcoins_giving/

If you want to contact me, you can do it on here or at
feedback (at) whyusebitcoins.com

Thanks!

The more sites explaining bitcoin the better.

My feedback:

The uses case are good, such as the student profile.
On the page http://whyusebitcoins.com/reasons/ you have enough white space to perhaps give the explaintion there, instead of having to click through.

You say "Lower transaction fees".  Than what?

What are bitcoins?

You can think of bitcoins as a new type of money. However, bitcoin is not controlled by a company or government, not even a group of these. Bitcoin is used by hundreds of thousands of people and is accepted by more and more merchants everyday.

I don't think you answer your own question well.  You're asking "what", but then go on to say "...it is used by".

You say

If you are a designer, there is a good chance you have heard of Bitcoin.

Should probably read "If you are a developer, there is.."

You can begin accepting Bitcoin today and pay 1% or less in transaction fees (compared to 2.9% at PayPal).

Bitcoin fee is a fixed fee.  It may or may not be 1%.  Using 3rd parties like Coinbase might incure a fee, but thats not bitcoins fee.
